Legacy

Have you thought of gifting a charity in your will?

Living with sight loss can be challenging, frustrating, isolating and lonely. WDSA has been supporting local people with sight loss since 1869. We are independent of any national charity. We aim to improve and enrich the quality of life for local people with sight loss. Every day 100 people begin to lose their sight.
WDSA provides a lifeline helping over 1000 people with sight loss across Wakefield in a variety of ways. You will probably know someone who has benefited from our help.

Making a will

You don’t need to be wealthy to make a will or leave a gift in your will – this is the ONLY way you can ensure that your wishes are met. We depend on donations and legacies – every penny counts and makes a difference. Your gift does not need to be large or take away from the care you show to family and friends.

How you can help

If you decide to make a gift in your will to WDSA, please let us know. It will ensure that we are aware of your wishes and can thank you on behalf of the many people who will benefit from your generosity in the future. Please click HERE for a form.

Your gift

This will help us:

• Provide practical support to people with sight loss, enabling them to live safely within their own homes and communities
• Provide emotional support support following the shock of diagnosis
• Help to combat loneliness and isolation
