6 pot engine, recent rear half chassis, engine and gearbox rebuilds (well, recent in LR terms )

No mention of condition of the roof woodwork, and as usual, no pictures of it erected (why do they do that ).

Bereavement forces sale.

Yes my attention drawn to this one earlier Robin - a fair price these days for a Landy that will only go up in value. Poor advert for a Motor Trader - a camper needs interior shots. Outside my budget though esp as it's a 6 pot petrol.

Seems a sensible enough price to aim for I reckon... original, non-messed about with Carawagon with original engine and (what looks to be) paintwork/bodywork too. I have seen pics of this one on the net before and wondered if it did indeed have its 6 pot still installed - nice to see that it does

You appear to have edited rather than quoted my post there, Robin!

Yes, the windows in the roof are the same as mine - Moydon frames like the side windows. I assume they must have changed not so long after '68 based on examples I have seen. Quite why, I don't know? cost? leaks? The actual window is Perspex in my roof, I would assume from new. The wood on the inside is simply there for the window frame to screw into, in the same manner as the side windows screw into the hard top sides. Mine has the same setup. The absence of any strengthening 'ribs' or angle is probably due to the larger windows having the aluminium frame which will add quite a bit of stiffness to the roof panel.

I can't say the speakers are a particularly elegant solution! I also assume that is what they are. The 240v sockets are hardly integrated into the fabric of the vehicle either... but I really like it! Nice motor.

The frame change to glass in rubber could have been a cost-saving exercise, though it could have been due to leaks

It must be quicker and cheaper to fit rubber than the Moydon frame, and no screws etc. though as you say, the roof then needed strengthening ribs above the window, I assume to stop the glass popping out of the rubber when flexed!

Interestingly, one of the windows in mine is perspex, the other glass - either they were using up stock or it was replaced later due to breakage.

I must admit, after replacing the rubber seal on mine, I would have preferred the frame solution - the skin of the roof is so flexible it is really quite difficult to push the glass into the rubber, and is certainly not a one-man job
