Wheels make such a difference!
Popped a spare set (Defender white!) on today as I was checking the brakes, and look at the difference it makes to the overall appearance:
Cheers,
Robin.

ok now I'm interested to see more of the vents, I'm guessing non original but they maybe better than having the big vent open on a night

Hi Robin,
Great to see another Dormobile being found and rescued.
Such a shame the state they get in when left unloved by previous owners.
Looks however there is plenty of potential in what you have found.
Your'e welcome to stick your head and tape measure in my Dormobile if your'e ever down in Essex or maybe at Peterborough 2018!!
Please can I go on the list already?
Best regards Chris

P S - I've got a dished deluxe bonnet going spare if you might be interested? (needs stripping and painting but frame good and skin with no dents)

Hi Chris,
Yep, saved - just needs some work to the brakes to get it through MOT, I think.
It obviously needs some tidying up as a camper - replace the rooflight rubber, bunk material and some gel coat repairs to the roof, but no real hurry.
Perhaps a winter project once I get rid of the Disco donor from the barn to make some room.
A dished bonnet would be great - it had 205 tyres on, but I've got a set of 7.50s to go on so visibility over the wheel would be better if lowered a bit.
Would it be ok to ask you to hang on to it until we can sort something out?
Cheers,
Robin.

Hi Robin
Great looking truck, well it will be when you get it sorted. If you need any measurements give me a shout.

I'll probably keep the original Diesel in for now, unless I decide or need to use it as my 'main' camper.
I did try the original 2.25 Diesel in my Carawagon, but after running 200TDis it just seemed sooooo sloooow
We'll see how it goes this time - I'm a bit older now so perhaps won't feel the need for speed
Cheers,
Robin

Hi Robin,
Yes I can hang onto the dished bonnet.
I found that a dished bonnet made a big difference over the standard deluxe bonnet to forward visibility over a 235/85 x16 tyre on a standard 109 wheel rim.
Cheers
Chris
