Re: HEC updates
G'day chap's, as you might have gathered my journey to Billing was put on hold due to my lass needing some help so rather than her struggle i stopped at home to help get her garden a more peaceful place for her to relax in and of course landrover owner's that come to visit and chill out.
I have been going to Billing for many years and seen the change so the only thing i really would be missing is the friend's i have made over the year's
, and to be honest i find it hard to push myself just to look at something with coil spring's on with the same old glittering junk that can be seen anywhere.
HEC update as can be seen is the n/s back panel finally fitted which is stained come varnished and ready for the next step, regard's the garden furniture it was free so i cleaned it up and gave it some paint and my lass is a very happy Bunny which is all that matter's to me
.

Re: HEC updates
G'day chap's, its been a while but work has not stopped on the old gal although slowed down a bit after my lass having her say about why i do and why i take so long when the job's i do are not necessary
, for some reason i have gone deaf and can't hear a thing
.
Anyway while planning my next job i remembered i had laid down an extra wire in the loom to the back body for a fan to keep my dog cool when caught up in stationary traffic so i set to with a plan of making a mounting bracket that would be bolted to the rib where the roof is bolted to the side but using riv-nuts in the horizontal position in the vertical lip of galvanized steel.
Now i have that working which is a must for a dog with two coats and only the vents of the safari roof due to plain sides fitted i after a few week's of hunting i found what i think is a tool box off a lightweight which will be used to house my gas bottle outside the rear of the 88. Although i have been told it is not a good idea to have the small bottle on the back of my truck in a metal box incase i am rammed from the rear
what the person taking the mick didn't realize is there is a 235x16 spare wheel on a wheel carrier that incorporates a water carrier the same size as a Gerry can that kind of protects the said box
well sort of.
My reply was if they are going to hit me that hard i am sat on a tank of petrol which i guess will not help but anyway i walked away and left him to his mutterings
.
Anyway tomorrow i will be carrying on with the box in question before i start on the framework for some storage cupboards that has not gone to plan due to a bit of confusion
that has not been helped by others who just have to have there say
.

Re: HEC updates
G'day Matt, girly and i are looking forward to our road trip which are her words not mine and as for Spud! Potato man as you referred to him
have you heard anything
.
Having had a word with girly{Lorrie} she says if aroma is that bad a seat can be moved to the back due to having there on seat belt
.
Regards my lass having a go at me she is really not well and her doc giving her another month off work has really not gone down well and not hearing anything from the hospital has made the situation worse bless her
.
Regards the pick up of my trinkets i just can't wait
just like a child at Christmas also the approaching leafers at the pit has got me wishing my life away but that's only because it is like my annual holiday
.
The gas bottle box has had a trial fitting and has now been etch primed-undercoated and one top coat so at least i have achieved a small job today.
Catch you later Bro. R-Rose

Re: HEC updates

While the paint was drying i dug out my riv-nut tool with assorted riv-nuts which i can of get carried away with but luckily i had plenty of the smaller size so having drilled out the small rivets previously all i had to do was enlarge the holes in the box so the riv-nut sits nice and snug then compress

Although it seems a simple job to some i was really pleased everything went well and all that's left to do tomorrow is paint the top then that's another step towards starting on the cooker mount that i have deliberately not done until i have been on a bit of a road trip with girly to pick up a load of trinkets that i am told might have some cooker parts i am after from my Bud Matt

How people manage without a hobby beats me as i would end up pulling my hair out but then i have plenty of that to

Catch you later. Wild man of Borneo
