Mick may be correct on this one....

I visited the widow of the po on Sunday and we had a chat about the Wagon (in fact I took the wagon back to see her). Anyway, the po's father was the original owner (an adventurous sort) and apparently he commissioned the conversion himself. I.e he took an export chassis SW to Martin Walters and had it converted. The question is whether it was a new or used SW? I will now need to see if I can get the history as this is why it is on a Herefordshire number plate....

Well, this weekend it gets to be moved from St Mawgan to Helston.

If I remember my camera, I will take a few more pics of how bad it is. 4 owners I am told, the last 2 in St Mawgan for the last 14 years or so.

Who knows what I will find!

EYD is a Chelmsford number, KRB is a Northanmpton number and WVR is Bristol, so none of my Dormobiles conform to that theory!

There you go then... The history of Wagon might be different of course as it if I remember Gaydon records said it was despatched to Martin Walters which contradicts the story somewhat....

Well, I now have the v5 (number not transferable - which means that Mick was right in that it was probably transfered) and have moved it to a place of safety at my brother's.
Photos later, but wow is it rusty! 30years in cormwall have done it no favours at all.

But, other than the water carriers and the table missing, and the important serialnumber that should have been on the wiper motor cover, all is there, even all the curtains! There are (rust) holes in the kitchen and the wardrobe and even the angle piece on the inside of the roof. Canvas looks to be in very good condition - red/white

When I get back home (going back tomorrow), I will load some photos

Front chassis is non existant - steering relay is not attached to anything!

Right, I have checked the Gaydon records for mine. It went into dispatch on the 05/01/1962 and left dispatch 6 days later (slow start to the year) and was sent to Martin Walters in Folkestone... Subsequently it was registered in Herefordshire! I know for a fact that it was in the hands of the PO's in 1966, however I don't know how it got there. Supposedly they had it from new, but it weirdly has a purchase mileage recorded on the user handbook of around 35,000.... As such I have no idea if there is a gap in ownership or whether it was registered later....
