Re: Dormobile 'headlining'

Thanks Gordon, Some of the pictures help with working out how the curtail rails are installed (mine had been replaced). My headlining isn't 'that' bad all things considered but I still need to investigate replacement. Maybe the Australian weather has been kinder to the board ? Here's an old picture ...

Re: Dormobile 'headlining'

Thanks Guys, I went to a board supplier today and they weren't much help. Hardboard (Masonite here in Australia) is easy to source but they had no idea how to bend it and get it to stay in shape. Can't get it with the vinyl already attached (I thought it might be something made for caravans) so once...

Re: Walter the Dormobile

I've started work on my Dormobile again and need to find somewhere to host photos. Photobucket held me to ransom then I switched to Flickr and they introduced a limit on the number of pictures you could host FOC !!! There are a few pictures left on Flickr. Anyway, I'm busy installing seatbelts and t...

Dormobile 'headlining'

I haven't been on the forum for ages but recently started work on my Dormobile again. While installing seatbelts I had to remove the headlining and it really needs replacing. I have to try and find something like the original vinyl covered hardboard in Australia but wondered how it was fitted origin...

Re: Walter the Dormobile

Photobucket are now holding me to ransom !
They changed their terms & conditions and are now demanding money to re-instate 3rd Party hosting.

Once I sort out another photo hosting site I'll reload some photos.

Re: 1970 Carawagon for sale, Netherlands

Turns out all the 6-cyl exhaust manifolds were sold to someone in the UK, possibly Craddocks but the staff couldn't remember (company has changed hands).

Re: 1970 Carawagon for sale, Netherlands

I'll have to check my local LR supplier, some years back they had a lot of 6-cylinder exhaust manifolds NOS in Land Rover boxes. I paid AUD$100 and replaced my manifold which had cracked in two. They had them listed at AUD$275 but had so many they just wanted to shift them..... Military Series III's...

Re: Fairey Winch drive shaft

Thanks Eagle but it turned out mine was an Aeroparts rather than Fairey. Turns out that the clutch operating arm splines are the same (SI &SII) so you can make the driveshaft from a couple of clutch operating shafts welded together.. The driveplate should be fairly straightforward to turn up and the...

Fairey Winch drive shaft

I purchased an incomplete capstan winch for my Dormobile.
It's missing the driveshaft, operating lever and the part that bolts to the crank.
I'm looking to source these parts.
