Re: Colorado or bust 2016
Thanks from me too Ian. Great pics and looks a wonderful trip.I am hoping to do a similar trip in 2017 with some family. My Dormobile is pretty much identical to Zuma except it's green but unfortunately too expensive to bring over - I'll probably hire something similar to Robin's in the States when ...

Re: Carawagon in NSW?
There was a 'Wanted - Dormobile or Carawagon ' ad on Gumtree under Land Rover in Australia back in June. Hopefully he has an alert going and sees this.

I can never hear the name Barstow without thinking of the line : “We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold.” ― Hunter S. Thompson, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas He also went on to mention the bats they could see but the hitchhiker couldn't - ' h...

Re: Searching for a Dormobile in Australia
Colin/Jerry - there was that one in Tasmania on Gumtree a couple of years age - also green - probably nearly impossible to trace now.
Was in pieces but saveable from memory.

Yes same here - he may have said a deceased estate ( not his father's ) but he did seem a little vague about it all.

Re: SWB Carawagon for sale in Australia
Hi Jerry
I spoke to the owner - seems it was his deceased father's project among others - the son was a little evasive about its condition. It's on the Gold Coast so I'm tempted to have a look but the spouse would be more than unhappy if I bought it.
Looks pretty good though.

That's a lovely job on the wardrobe Mick - pity about the freight costs to Australia or I'd take one right away.

Re: CASPA - sixpot info
Thanks Mick and Calum - I wasn't really after any figures - I just remember there were a few tips like "run it to 850rpm and ease back the mixture til it sounds like your mother singing you to sleep" or something like that - it then went on to say that this setting never burnt the exhaust ...

Re: Scotland by Carawagon
Hi Calum - in 1975 I worked on the oil rig they built in Kishorn opposite Plockton before the Skye bridge was built. I drove there from London in a splitscreen VW camper after hearing from a Dutch guy in Amsterdam that there were jobs going there. I was employed as a cleaner over Christmas 1974/5 12...
