Replacing bungee cord on paraphanalia pockets

One of the bungee cords that runs along the paraphernalia pocket on the roof of the Carawagon has snapped. I'm looking for some similar bungee cord to replace it with but can't find any 8mm cream/ivory cord.

Does anybody know of a supplier? I've found both white and grey on ebay for under £10 for 10m (Doing both sides). So if I can't find any cream/ivory then I'll probably go for white and hope it doesn't look too conspicuous.

Thanks,
Patrick

I've had a look around as well Patrick, and not found any cream or ivory.

Looking at mine, two look like they might have had white cord, now a very off-white!, and another looks like it was white with blue and yellow flecks.
Perhaps one or more have been replaced in the past

Whatever you do find, I wouldn't mind re-doing all three of mine so get plenty

I just used white with the black flecks from my local hardware store. Cheap, and does the job very well! You can't actually see much of the cord anyway, as most of it is in the sleeves of the pockets! Main thing for me was to ensure it was nice and tight and didn't sag. I'd do both sides whilst you have the trim off (assuming it attaches to the front and rear in the same manner as mine)

I've ordered 20m of this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ELASTIC-BUNGE ... 0822655761
Which should arrive after Christmas and we'll see what it's like. Till then I'll just have to have an empty pocket on that side, or tie it up with string.

Mine are both fixed behind the front trim but attached onto hooks at the rear which should make it nice and easy to adjust it to get the tension right. But yes I'll do both at the same time as I think they are both the original cord, I don't really want the contents of the other one falling on my head while driving.

Sounds good Patrick.

Which diameter did you go for?

Oh, and I've got some spare 6mm black bungee you could use until the new stuff comes if you want - we'll be 'rockin & rollin' next weekend up on Grewelthorpe Moor so probably be best to make sure nothing spills out of your hammock

Remind me when you come for Christmas dinner tomorrow :eatin:

Pretty sure the original Holt Allen hooks were made to accept 3/16" (roughly 5mm) cord. Think I used 5mm bungee in the pockets on mine, and it's fine even with all the table legs, camping chairs, umbrellas etc etc up there
