Hi all,
Picked up my new Dormobile "Gertie" yesterday and been having a quick look today.
She came with a folder full of history which I am slowing looking threw, found out that she was named Gertie so that will do for me.
A few pictures to show her off
Thanks kevin

She has been very well looked after in the past but has stood untouched for a couple of years
Hopefully a good service and MOT and she will be on the road. Interior just need a clean
Thanks kevin

Congratulations (a bit late I know), a very interesting vehicle! I don't know if you saw the thread for the sale of this vehicle over on the S2C, but I posted a load of old photos of it that I got with my Dormobile (dark blue - BDH800C); if you happen to have any photos in the history of your one that have mine in I would be interested to see them!

I have some old pictures of a 1970 Dormobile named Gertie. She evidently spent her first 3 years in South Africa before being shipped to the UK.
And a later picture:
Same year, same name, same colour vehicle, looks to be the same winch. Possibly early pictures of yours?

Gents
Very interested to hear about Gertie's past.
Luckerly I was given a folder of her history. Yes she spent the first 3 years in South Africa ( after the first few months in St Andrews in Scotland) and then returned to Scotland . She has now had various owners in England .
Gertie was also sold to a Dutch owner in 1998 and then lived in Holland for a few years before again returning to England.
Terran, the pictures you posted are Gertie with her Dutch plates on (I have them in my garage), she now has her original British plates back on.
Ant, sorry I do not have any of the pictures but did see the thread on the S2 forum.
I am still working on cleaning her up so I can get her back on the road. My aim was to achieved that by now but due to a number of things I have had enough time (all good things though)
Thanks Kevin
