Welcome :hello:

Your Carawagon looks very tidy - are you using it much?

As you'll see from the Events/Trips section, we try to get out as much as we can in ours :gold:

Cheers,
Robin.

Welcome along! Nice to see more Carawagons coming out of the woodwork... Is it sat on coils now?

Lived in Sheffield for three years - haven't been back for a few months now. Itching to get back for a visit and some beers as I really enjoyed living there

EDIT: I can see the leaf springs now, but running Defender axles by the looks?

Hi Fletch

Welcome to the forum. Spotted you on ebay earlier. Sorry don't need another small trailer. Posted a link to your sale in the General Discussion area.

Interesting truck you have there? Not seen it around, have you had it long? Looks in good nick. Did you restore it?

I have a 1970 2a Dormobile on the road and a 1966 Carawagon waiting to be restored.

Hope you can make some of the events this summer as it would be nice to meet you and have proper look at your truck.

Cheers Mick

Welcome to the group! I am very intrigued by your back door, is that a dog flap, or some other contraption?

It was a project my dad and I did about 6 years ago. Its got a 200 Tdi and 5 speed gearbox from a discovery. We also fitted the axles and power steering. My dad used it for a couple of years then as my two boys got bigger and he got older, they surrendered to a caravan and I took over. Only managed a weekend last year but hoping to get out a bit more this year. The back door mod is a practical, although maybe not sophisticated way of taking the toilet on our travels. Swapped the tyres recently as the ones in the picture were really loud and fitted parabolics to the rear. Its riding a lot better but don't know if they might be too soft when camping.

With the awning up on a short break at the end of last year

Interesting

I have a similar awning, only used once as I'm normally at shows/events as a sole driver so a tarp over the pull-out poles between vehicles works well for cover.

What's the tarp at the front for - water problems or covered storage?

Patrick's SW Carawagon is on Parabolics and rides really well, better than his SWB on paras!
His are heavy duty - 4 leaf at the back and sits nicely.

Cheers,
Robin.

The front is a little of both, it covers the front vent and does shelter anything I put up there. The kids like to sit up there too. The ride is a lot better now with the rears done, I was going to do the fronts too but its running ok so might just leave it for now.

Thanks
Wayne.
