Dormobile Roof For Sale
Dormobile Roof For Sale
Located near Inverness, saved from the remains of a Dormobile on Skye, this is available for sale. Contact me for details if you are interested and we can discuss price (I have a share in it, but do not own it outright).
Glass is missing. Vent is broken. These bits can be replaced easily enough. There seems to be one bunk still attached and so is the candy stripe fabric. This item is very dirty so will need cleaning up and has been painted at some point (this will come off with wet and dry). Looks like quite an early one as it has the same bunks as mine!
Perfect for those with a normal roof looking to transform it into a camper!

Re: Dormobile Roof For Sale
Could be interested. How easy is it to source glass(?) panels and the vent bits? Is the canvas OK, or will that need replacing too?
Roof on mine probably wants replacing anyway, so a pop-up might make sense.

Re: Dormobile Roof For Sale
Most parts are still available from Dormobile, Rob.
Not sure about the windows - were they originally glass or polycarbonate?
Either way, you can either get laminated glass cut from a template or buy a sheet of polycarbonate and cut them yourself.
I suspect the seal for the windows is standard window seal available from Dormobile or a guy who sells it at the car shows (Skipton 4x4 for one) at about a third of the price
The vent is available from Dormobile as well.

Re: Dormobile Roof For Sale
I'm interested. Does it come with an opening side window & Mr Whippy maker?
Re: Dormobile Roof For Sale
Vents are available, either from Dormobile or from a contact in France.. Glass, just get cut to size and seals are available. The condition of the canvas is unknown, it needs a good clean and my friend didn't fancy opening it right up, I can however ask if you are interested Rob?

Re: Dormobile Roof For Sale
I would really like this for the Stagey. Shame it is so far away. France is closer! That said, these dont come up very often..... Any ideas of expected price and for getting it transported south?

Hi Rob go for it I did think about it for Steptoe but then thought of getting it home an the other bits an repairs it will need tho Im sure all the bits are still avaible. Im keeping my standard roof for now things could change if a carawagon roof comes up for sale at a latter date. Neil.RobW wrote:I am - might need to armwrestle FT for it though!
