Dormobile badge
I have seen the Dormobile company's website listing the later-style badges that fit in the silver mountings on front wings, but no reference to the silver mounting 'frame' itself.
Does anyone know if these are obtainable, or how to make one?
Thanks
Roger

Re: Dormobile badge
Hi Roger
I have had the inserts from Dormobile as they had been lost from my truck. The silver mounting plastic with pretend chrome that flakes off. If I had to replace mine, I think the easiest way would be to machine them from a block of alloy. You would have to look hard to see the difference.
I can measure mine if you need the dimensions.
Cheers Mick

Re: Dormobile badge
How about finding a 'U' section the right size and filling in the ends? I think someone made replicas like this in the 9os.

Thanks for the replies
If the replacement badges are reasonable, I'll get some and find something to mount them in - maybe aluminium channel?
Is there a photo here somewhere showing correct position for them?
Thanks

Re: Dormobile badge
I have been in contact with Karen at Charnwood Publishing UK who manufacture replica vehicle badges as well as a few others.
They will replicate the original chrome early Dormobile script badges but only in orders of 100. They also need the
dimensions to get a quote together but it looks like about 10 - 15 UKPounds will be the ballpark figure.
Mine are missing completely - anyone have the dimensions?

Re: Dormobile badge
Did Karen at Charnwood give you an idea of price? I know that 100 badges seems like a lot, but you need 2 per vehicle. Maybe Jim at Dormobile would take some.

Re: Dormobile badge
No Ian - she needed the dimensions to do a quote but I saw a few similar ones on their site in the 7-15UKPound range so I'm guessing that's what it'll be.
I agree you need 2 per vehicle and Jim may well take some - they have no supplier at the moment as the previous one went out of business I think. But it's a lot of badges and not much demand really - I'll wait and see what the quote comes in at.

Can/has this been publicised with the 'Dormobile Club', it may raise the interest.67dormobile wrote:But it's a lot of badges and not much demand really - I'll wait and see what the quote comes in at
