I was so tempted myself, but it is actually the other end of the country for me!!
If I hadn't the ambulance I would have done the long haul, just to have a carawagon......

Hope it goes to a good home!

Now wouldn't that be something - the Sanderson clan turning up at a show in 3 Carawagons :nana:

Just got to drop it onto a 'spare' 109 and persuade Susan or Hazel to drive it :stars:

Seriously though, I might do what Alex is doing with his 'new' Dormobile - take my time and rebuild from the ground up on a galv chassis and get it exactly as I want it, then sell my original Carawagon (the one I've just finished :thud: ).

Don't hold your breath though - I view this one as a long-term project rather than an on-the-road rolling restoration so if I do sell my other one, it won't be for a year or so.
Then again, you know how I work - set me a deadline and I'll try to work to it :neener:

Deadline of next years s2c International? Nice family friendly event which you may be able to persuade Mum or Hazel to come to...We could take both caravans and the dandy too.

Great news Robin, Wondering why you were looking for a 109"..... On the plus side, if you finish this one and sell the other one you will be able to get another member on here....

Yep, that's the idea Dan; if I do sell the other one it will be offered on here first

I'm in two minds whether to molest Steptoe, my current 109" - he's sitting there on the lawn not having turned a wheel since his MOT ran out nearly 3 months ago because I haven't had time to get him ready (just needs a couple of chassis patches) :stars:
However, Steptoe is unique in his own right, being modified by his previous owner and turned into a real workhorse for a specific task (heavy winches etc.) so it would be a shame to strip him down :thud:

Of course, if nothing else turns up, that would be the most sensible thing to do - plus a new chassis of course

Cheers,
Robin.

Steptoe is too unique to turn into a Carawagon... I am sure a 109" will turn up, I did have a lead on one a year back, nothing materialised but I will do some digging...

If you are going to re-chassis, it doesn't matter if you get a right ropey one, just needs to be legit

That's right Dan, and though I don't mind welding up bulkheads, one which isn't totally shot would be good.

Of course, if an abandoned project with galv chassis, good bulkhead and a 200/300TDi turns up then all the better
