Hello from Somerset

Hello,
Firstly thankyou for welcoming me to the forum.
I'd like to introduce Bluebell !
A series 2a carawagon 5 door. I'm mid way through the project, having the running gear transplanted onto a new galvanised chassis.
I'm now onto the body and then it will be putting the carawagon back together.
I have an Instagram of the build with loads of photos and videos of what I have been doing. That can be seen here https://www.instagram.com/bluebell_the_ ... Z4dTdvbg==

Many thanks,

James.

Sorry I forgot to mention it's a 1964 model.

Hi James,

Good to see another 5 door Carawagon make an appearance - they are much rarer than the 3 door version, though a few more have appeared over the last few years.

It would be good to see pictures, but your Instagram link doesn't appear to work for me.

Here's my 5 door, finished last year though I'm still debating whether to replace the heavy breathing 2.5D engine it came with, with a 300TDi I have spare!

Meanwhile, this is one of my 3 door Carawagons I lightly restored back in 2011, and the one I use for most of the shows/events/expeditions we attend.

My son also has a 5 door which we restored for a Morocco trip in 2011:

Hello, it's lovely to hear from you.
You have quite the collection there, fantastic! That trip to Morocco would be a dream!
It should come up as Bluebell_the_landy on an Instagram search.
My one has a 2.25 diesel in it.
I will try and attach some photos on here.
I was given this photo by the previous owners of her.

This is where I'm at currently with the project.

Plenty more still to get on with but making good progress.
I have a roof in pieces and an interior to put together at some point, so I may be after some photos of your interior eventually.
Cheers

Looks like you're doing a great job

Keep it up and keep us posted on your progress.

If you have any questions, or need a source for the roof seals or any other Carawagon related parts, let me know. I've restored and worked on several, so ask away :tiphat:

Cheers,
Robin.

I don't have an Instagram account but your link let me see a selection of photos before requiring a log-in.

Looks good and another 'Rare' one being saved, well done so far.
