Howzit from joburg

Post by Jakethepeg » Thu Mar 16, 2023 3:17 pm

I have just purchased a series 2a dormobile from a deceased estate, so have no idea of it's history, but it has been standing for years. It was originally sold by Henleys in the uk, and presumably exported to south Africa privately. It is fitted with a chev 4.1 straight 6,4.1 litre, a popular swap here. Anyway got it running today, but will probably revert to the original 2.25. My dad didn't have one of these, but he was sales manager for Martin Walter at the time in Folkestone, and he sometimes brought one of these home

Hi, and welcome.

That's a nice looking Dormobile - a shame there is no furniture inside, but at least you have the seats and roof.

I'm sure you can work something out for the furniture (cooker, sink, cupboards etc.) to make it a useful camper again, if that's what you want.
