Re: Newark Vintage Tractor & Heritage - 8th-10th Nov
Hi Rob,
If you're turning on to Drove Lane from the A46 roundabout, take the second right turn. (The first is to Newark Golf Centre.)
If you look at the satellite view on Google Maps you'll see the second right opens up on to a large hard-standing area.
Head for the portacabin and get your pass from there.
The 'Blue gate' is the first left turn into the showground from that portacabin.
We have been located on a couple of different areas in the past, but both near that gate, to the left of the main drag as you drive in.
Do you know what day/time you'll be arriving? I should be there around lunchtime on the Friday, so if it's after then you should see my Carawagon on one of the pitches after you come through the gate. If not, the steward might have put up their Land Rover banner, though we rarely see the steward - we just sort ourselves out
See you there,
Robin.

Thanks, should be arriving around the same sort of time depending on how much of a lie in I have! Entrance opposite the karting: sorted!

Got my papers too - I'll probably travel down after work on the Friday, so see you at some point that evening.

Hi Robin,
I am thinking of joining you as some other commitment for that weekend might now have been be cancelled. Are there still spaces on the LRCC stand and I will confirm ASAP after I get home on Sunday (currently in N. Scotland).
Thanks
Ian

Hi Ian,
You have to book in individually for this show.
However, applications closed September 13th , but they usually allow late entries for outside stands like ours - they are a lot more strict on the inside display areas!
There's usually space on the LR stand, which is shared with some classic cars - we just group together as LRCC to put on our display of campers.
Telephone 01636 705796 - mention Land Rover Classic Campers and hopefully you'll get in.
Let us know so we know to expect you
Cheers,
Robin.

We did the on line entry and our passes arrived last Monday so we're in

Good event, just a bit chilly on Friday night. Getting out was somewhat chaotic though!

Re: Newark Vintage Tractor & Heritage - 8th-10th Nov
Seems like they were trying a new exit policy this year, which I'm sure was great for the tractors as they were loading up on to their trailers before we were allowed to even move.
That meant, by the time we got out on to Drove Lane, all the HGV tractor trailer units were joining the queue in front of us, from the top car park.
In previous years the most we've been held up was 5 minutes or so - last night it took more than half an hour of stop-start to get to the roundabout.
I feel a note to the organisers might be in order

There was nearly a hold up at me too: I was switching off during the waits until I nearly didn't restart.....
If the tractors had gone the way they did, and we'd gone out the blue gate it should work fairly well. No crossing of traffic either.
