Carawagon wooden roof rack diamentions
Carawagon wooden roof rack diamentions
Hello
I am looking to replace the wooden front supports of the roof on the carawagon roof. Mine look like they have been cut and shaped to the roof. I would like to add the supports for the rack. Dose anyone have a template for this? Or a drawing?
Thanks
Ben

HI Ben
Did that roof ever have a wooden roof rack fitted? If the customer had ordered the galvanised roof rack with the vehicle, maybe they didn't fit the wooden rack? Just a thought.
Here is the Carawagon Roof Rack I make. http://www.lrbits.co.uk/index.php?main_ ... ucts_id=20
Cheers Mick

Hi Ben,
The carawagon your roof came off had a similar roof rack as Mick is showing in his picture. It was sold separately before I could contact the seller.

Re: Carawagon wooden roof rack diamentions
Hi guys,
I replaced the wooden rack sections in ne and Patrick's, but made them longer than original.
One of my projects doesn't have the front section any more - it was broken off when I got it.
My other project still has the next original wooden rack with an original metal Carawagon rack (like the ones Mick makes) over it, so I can measure it when I get back from Florida
Cheers,
Robin

Re: Carawagon wooden roof rack diamentions
Dear all,
I've decided to go with a meta rack in stead for the wooden one. As I feel in the long run it will probably be stronger and last longer.
Thanks for all the comments, I've now remade and refitted the front part of my roof . So I will when I've got it back together. Will be ordering one of micks racks,
Possibly the Jerry can holds too.

Hi Ben
Personally (and I am not saying this because I might get a sale) I think you have made the right choice. The metal racks gives you much more space.
I have a rack in stock, but no early type Carawagon Jerry Can holders. I need to make some anyway for stock.but this has made me realise I need to get on with them.

no rush Mick! :-)
My sw 109 is far from road worthy, I'm hoping to have it on the road for the end of the summer , but it all depends on work and finding some of the bits I am missing.
But when it's MOTed I be ordering!
