1969 Land Rover Series 2A SWB Mini camper

Very sad to see this one go but unlike most of you lucky blighters I'm only allowed one Land Rover at a time!
1969 Land Rover Series 2A SWB Mini Camper.
* December 2016 MOT with one advisory, now sorted.
*Lusty 2268cc diesel engine in fine fettle, returning approx. 28mpg with 50-60 mph cruising if you really want to. Oil pressure gauge shows 45 psi when hot. Good starter and uses no water and very little oil between changes.
*Fitted with quiet Series 3 gearbox which does not drop out of gear on the over-run and a non-whining Fairey overdrive.
* Replacement steel chassis fitted, sound bulkhead and footwells.
*This is not a river counter’s dream as it has Series 3 wings, chequer plated wing tops, cab and tub floor. However the cab is fitted with the Exmoor Trim sound deadening kit and mat plus superb early Rocky Mountain door tops in bare ally, anti-burst locks, door cards, as new deluxe seats, cubby box, 2 under-seat storage boxes and internal sun visors plus there are light guards front and rear, an external bonnet lock and an internal battery isolator.
*Recent new front prop shaft, radiator, cab door seals, extended axle breathers, shockers all round, recon steering relay, toughened track rods and track rod ends, heavy duty battery, rear brakes and Halogen headlamps.
* Fitted tow ball with electrics and folding step.
*All five 7.50 x 16 Avon Rangemaster tyres have plenty of life left in them.
* The body is not perfect but is sound and tidy throughout and the black paintwork, whilst not immaculate, adds patina to this 46 year old vehicle.
*The rear has been converted into a mini-camper, as featured in the October 2014 issue of Classic Land Rover magazine and has just been upgraded with fitted (removable) cupboards down the offside. The rear bulkhead behind the passenger seat is detachable allowing a full length folding mattress to fit down the nearside which offers a very comfortable night’s sleep. Curtains all round afford privacy in this ‘mini stealth camper’. However it can easily be put back to its original configuration if preferred.
*Tax exempt of course and the insurance with Adrian Flux, including Breakdown, Home Start, Recovery for UK and Europe was £127 last time I renewed. This is the best Land Rover I have owned out of many and is a very reluctant sale to fund my latest ‘Dormawagon’ project. Although I have spent much time and money to get the vehicle like this, there is plenty of fettling left to keep you amused over the winter! An appreciating asset, you can’t go wrong; treat yourself or someone you love this Christmas and New Year.
*Please bear in mind that this is a 46 year old vehicle, not a new one but every time you get in it you will have the choice of driving to the supermarket…or the Sahara….
*Haggling starts at £4750. Viewing recommended, vehicle is in Leeds, West Yorkshire.
