I would like a demountable to fit my Hi-Cap S3 to supplement the Marshall but all the ones I find are white plastic nonsense

Any photos/information or brochures out there for "Period" demountables which were available in the UK?

Twice in Fort William I've encountered a red LWB single cab pick-up (110 rather than Series) with a demountable camper unit on it. Reasonably compact affair. He reckons he has a top speed of 40 to 45 mph on our roads. I drove behind him up as far as Invergarry and it looked reasonably well behaved. Think his unit is French in origin, but I don't know where he got it from. If I get the chance to speak to him again, I'll ask, maybe get a photo too.

It looks like this subject has been dormant for a spell, but as I've only just arrived here, I'm attaching a couple of pics (somebody else's) of a Romahome Demountable pod on a D110. It looks "right".

There are usually a few Romahomes on Ebay. Avoid the coach built versions, unless very cheap, as they tend to flex, then leak/rot.

Looking at those pictures again, I think they may be of the body shell of a ROMINI trailer caravan ... nominally 6ft x 6ft x 6ft high. Try an Ebay or Google search for ROMINI CARAVAN.

Be warned, they are now a cult vehicle, expect to pay £3.000 or thereabouts. But that will include a trailer chassis.
