Sorry for the confusion of the fan picture but as you get in the rear tail gate the bracketry for the fan is made up around the tube of the pull out canopy which is why it took so long to make wanting it up as high as i could and at an angle that does not blow air at you but around you or my dog.

Regards the gas bottle storage box i have sorted out the 12 set screws needed to hold the top in place but the paint was still drying so could not be shown in the picture but when it is fitted half the lid lifts up so i can turn the gas on or off, this however i will show at a later date when it is all bolted up.

I guess you have gathered i am tootling over tomorrow to pick up trinkets i have bought over the past year from my good friend who has been storing them for me till i get sort of organized :embarassed: , wheels-side awning and as for the rest i can't remember but i am excited :woohoo: sad or what :shakehead: :embarassed: .

Sorry for the waffling again. R-Rose :tiphat: .

G'day chap's although a very busy sort of afternoon after waking up very late morning with the unopened yogurt still in one hand and spoon laid on my bed  i did manage a bit of tinkering on HEC by finding and cleaning up the hasp i think they are called which is the bit that holds the lid down along with a turn buckle.

With that riveted in place i remembered seeing a sticker although only small had a flame on it with LPG underneath so that is now stuck in place just incase someone takes a dislike to either me or my truck although i have an LPG kit ready to fit at a later date so i have a choice of either fuels  .

G'day chaps, after assembling the top onto the box with the hasp and everything riveted nicely in place it appeared because i had used riv-nut's but not counter sunk screws when the lid was shut i could not turn the buckle to hold the lid shut :thud: .

I like the screws i had chose so it was a case of filing the hole the turn buckle fits through a tad longer which of course meant the galv was no more  but then having scrapped thick layers of paint from the hasp some anti rust paint turned it black undercoat along with the top coat was applied and it was left to dry in the sun.

Time to sort out some new terry clips to hold the door supports in place after i had made my own due to my canopy being fitted a tad different  by which time my painting was dry so the hasp got riveted back on and i must say my colorful painting does stand out a bit  but i am happy with the end of another fruitful day.

Well chaps, i have heard say bright colors help one wake up in the morning  but in my case i am really happy how that battered old box i have had for years has turned out and will be put back in service but maybe not what it was originally made for.

With my back really giving me some jip after my little road trip along with unloading and finding places to store things it was a stand up with a bit of leaning day rather than clambering in the back of the truck to progress with the frame work and what i hope is a swing out top that my small cooker will be bolted to.

I have had a couple of practice run's with the mounting of the small two burner come grill so if the weather is bad and i want a brew i can make one but other than that i can swing it out level the my drop down tailgate but in the up position so the door will support the swing out top.

My thoughts were to have the top the width of the tailgate almost but leave enough room for a plate or a mug along with enough room to swing it shut back onto the cupboard top inside where it will be locked in position, although it might sound strange i did this sort of thing on another 88 using those old door hinges off a house with a think pile carpet but when opening the door it actually lifts the door to clear the carpet.

As you can see i have fitted an e.bay purchase that a member bought for me for the sat-nav etc but i have kept my cigarette lighters that are extra on an alloy plate that's part of the dash for now anyway :shakehead: .

Time to shower and get some good old horse liniment{white embrocation } on my back so i can rest and maybe get more done tomorrow than today :thud: .

 a change of mind saw me take out the alloy plate that housed the cigarette lighters in the series three dash for an alloy plate the same shape but was now the home for three switches one of which illuminates to let me know the USB come power points for the SatNav etc are turned on.

Yes maybe power from the ignition switch might have been easier but that's to straight forward and the other side of the truck and to be honest a series three bulkhead is not as easy to work with unlike the 2a bulkhead it should have on  . To my late father the type of bulkhead was erelevant as long as it did the job and was something to tinker with is all that was important so it stays as it is even though i now have a correct type it matters not to me.

With big black clouds building up in the distance i just managed to complete the job with everything working as it should and i have a small switch with wires soldered in place with a bullet connector on each end just incase one day i might need an extra switch to power up what ever takes my fancy  .

To me a fruitful day had with my hobby although to some it might have been classed as tedious  but i did get a good result in the end :woohoo: . Catch you later. R-Rose :tiphat: .

 Cool well it really was not that :shakehead: and the safari roof didn't help much either as i moved my bulk around in the back of the 88 while doing the construction of the frame work for a small gas hob and storage cupboards for the third time i guess  but at least i am happier now :stars: .

Concentration was a big issue today with these things called tape measures and as usual figures but finding nuts bolts washers all that match each other took a while but now the back and rear side are bolted glued and pinned i am on a roll again but this time more in keeping with what i need rather than going off and making something that is a tad different to others :shakehead: .

Although it was not an early start i was sure something creative was going to happen today  , it really took some doing but come tea time and my lass shouting me in i realized then i was wet through with sweat with my lass having to peal off my tea shirt and socks :embarassed: .

Thankfully it was a late tea with time getting on along with darkness so i was glad i had packed everything away in case i fell asleep like a contented Silverback sat against his favorite tree but in my case a reclining chair  .

Catch you later. R-Rose :tiphat: .

PS i just remembered i fitted a fan in the rear of the truck to keep my dog cool :banghead: which i guess would have helped me a tad :thud: .

Hi Brad,

Those rising and lift off hinges are called rising butts

I found a couple of the switch plates that fit under the dash panel. They have both had plates bolted over some of the switch holes, but I don't know if the holes were factory or PO drilled. Do you want me to put your name on them?

G'day John, i have never refused a trinket so yes please it will become another doofer ''do for another day'' and will probably come in handy and when it does i will be grateful  .

I had an old friend call in today but to be honest i can't remember him which he finds amusing but what worries me is what he said i got up to in my younger days calling me a man of few words  .

Anyway he has asked me to go round and take a peak at a metal lathe that might be for sale :woohoo: but i am trying not to get my hopes up but he also has a woodwork lathe :thud: , how i am supposed to sleep tonight i don't know  and as to whether it is just talk or bull i can only hope but not get my hopes to high :cactus: .

Catch you later. Brad :tiphat: .

PS thanks for the info
