The doors have been replaced and the paint work done.

As it turned out there was a lot of hassle with the second row doors but sorted now.

It now looks like this, light pastel green over deep bronze green with roof kept in light cream as it was before.

Sound proofing and cabinet refurb to go.

Kind regards

Chris

Hi Chris

Looks like it's going to be a great truck. Interesting choice of colours? I guess it's the wheel colour I'm not so sure of. Late Series 2a's should have their wheels the same colour as the roof. But it is your truck and I look forward to see it finished.

Good luck getting it finished.

Cheers Mick

Thanks for your supportive comments.

I didn't want to be a slave to series 2A Land Rover colour convention.

Its all a bit of a mixture of series elements, the plain galvanised bits remind me of a 107 station wagon I had and the two tone green because I like both shades and couldn't decide which one to have alone!!

I've nearly finished the sound proofing and have used a Wright 4x4 moulded mat system in the front and their flat sheets in the back. Its taken ages to fit it all but it works well.

Sorry I'm going to break with Dormobile convention as well and spray the cabinets hammered white rather than silver!!

With kind regards to all.

Chris

Hi Chris
Don't worry about convention, there isn't one. Have seen things paint all sorts of colours. There is a fur lined Dormobile out there. Each to their own. Please don't take any comment as we are having a go at you. Just making friendly banter and saying our own preferences. Don't like it when everyone is nicey nicey.

Looking forward to seeing your truck in the flesh.

Mick

No Worries Mick and indeed no offence taken.

I like the banter and friendly support given to me during the process of restoring my Dormobile.

I'm getting on well with the cupboards having spent ages getting many layers of old paint off, treating surface rust and respraying them white.

Shouldn't be much longer till its ready to use but I've still got minor patch repairs to do to the roof canvas.

I'm using it as my every day vehicle now and enjoying it very much.

Thanks for your reply about parabolic springs. I'm still thinking about that one!!

With kind regards

Chris
