Stopped there last night. Staff are slightly bonkers! It's £5 per head for camping in the carpark/side of road which goes straight to the Mountain Rescue team. Breakfast is £6. Some very nice beer too.

Thanks for that Rob.
I think other members have stopped there before - including a snow/winter/New Year stopover!
The last time I went by, a couple of years ago, it looked as though it had been boarded up, but perhaps just renovating
Cheers,
Robin.
PS. So, does that mean your camper is now on the road? How was your first trip?

Renovations possibly - Everest redid the windows as they were getting a bit old. For free because of the adverts.
Good trip, nothing broke and drives well. Need to rethink the bed slightly as it's not an ideal set up (and not what I asked for!). It's back with the garage for jerry can holders, recovery points (needs a bracket welding up) & minor tweaks - should be done by early next week. Off again in about 10 days for a tank/wartime show and then Doncaster so should have it mostly sorted for then.
Marginally over 15mpg on the back roads and about 20mpg at 55-ish on the motorways. We can nearly shout at each other at that speed too!
