AS usual my OCD of trying to lay thing's out to look tidy got the better of me :banghead: , my spare coil that was bolted to the bulkhead beneath the rain channel was removed so i could lay my extra small loom's against the main loom so although colorful will at least be tidy.
The relay for the old style split charge can now be bolted to the riv-nut's i fitted earlier, with the loom's in place i am in the process of making another bracket the same as the one for the relay to fasten a standard landrover series 2a fuse box to that will take care of the live feed's for my system.
Although i know i have a new battery carrier for the seat box  for the life of me i can't find it having built benches the length of my workshop :stars: .
In my mind it was a good idea to build these benches but behind underneath :aaagh: is shelving with trinket's on, although all in order i have to get on my knee's to see what i am looking for which is where the problem begin's :thud: , i can crawl about to my heart's content with a torch or lead light but getting up is another story  being built like an aging gorilla but rolling about like a beached whale :embarassed: .
I don't weld but i can fabricate so hopefully i think i mentioned earlier i might have an old seat box coming if all goes well :nana1: , at least i am nearly back to where i was yesterday which in my mind is a step forward and i am getting there. Catch you later. R-Rose :tiphat: .

Well chap's, having had to back off a tad due to the weather and the fact i took off the relay bracket to make another identical, it turned out i had to make two having made a mistake with my measurement's :embarassed: .
It's nothing knew for me but i did get a tad frustrated when i realized the 2a fuse box was a different shape and size :banghead: , the fact i had spent hour's cleaning the fuse box and didn't realize :thud: just show's how engrossed i was in getting it clean without dropping or just breaking it.
Unfortunately i had to take off the coil and electronic ignition that was mounted on the rocker box military style, i could then get to the part of bulkhead i was going to be working at with my drill and riv-nut tool.
I measured-marked dot-punched and drilled the mounting holes in the now proper shape and size bracket which allowed me to mark the bulkhead prior to drilling in stages the holes for my riv-nut's, with that job done and having found some nice allen screw's with washer's it was bolted in place :nana: .
Having had a rest from my truck and been out with an engineering friend and his wife talking lathes and that kind of stuff, this seem's to have really revitalized me if that's the proper word  so with a mind now fresh as though i have had a holiday i feel really happy :wine: .

G'day chap's, i was really itching to crack on this morning just like a child at Christmas  , after looking outside my bedroom window it was obvious thing's were not going to happen as i hoped due to the weather with a bitter cold wind :shakehead: .
After a brew and a short trundle with my hound it had started to brighten which meant i could at least prepare my thought's of my plan of action {at least it sounds positive  }, rather than struggle i took off the mounting bracket for the 2a fuse box then marked and drilled the relevant hole for the center mounting riv-nut, this allow's me to use a nice set screw and shake proof washer with a dab of copper grease which i have failed to mention i use on almost everything.
With the fuse box fastened a small hole was drilled in the bracket that lines up with a small cut away in the base of the fuse box, a small self tapping screw is screwed in the plate to act as a locating pin.
The rest of the day which to be honest was not a long time was spent soldering some terminal's and re-routing a few wire's that i was not happy with till i just had to call it a day :banghead: .
Hopefully i have not got to cold which will allow me to tinker a bit more tomorrow :nana: .

Hey Up Chap's, i managed an earlier start today with the sun shining :nana: and made some better connection's to the isolater switch but while fitting a plain washer backed up with a star washer i dropped the brass nut :thud: .
I was on my hand's and knee's for what seemed ages, clamber up and off for a brew a tad brassed off due to them there nut's on this switch being a funny thread for brass anyway that i don't have :banghead: .
I came back supping my brew leaning on the wing to move the truck back but still no nut in sight :shakehead: are well i had better go and see if i have a nut on a solenoid thinking it might be the same but the first one i came to has steal nut's which is not what i after.
Before i start stressing i will go and have another look :nana: , there it was a nice clean brass nut sat on top of a stone the same colour  .
With all the wires connected to the cut off switch and all nice and neat the heaven's opened and i got drenched but at least another step further, unfortunately my lass was a tad late home so no pictures sorry but i am very happy very wet and must look like i have been dragged from a canal backward's :woohoo: .

I bet you missed me NOT  , my absence if only for a day was spent looking for this new battery carrier i bought a while back  , to be honest i had great fun in this little shed that had trinket's i had long forgotten about, unfortunately not that battery carrier for under the seat which will be safe somewhere.
When i acquired one of my 109's the PO had fitted one of those tubes with lead ball's in, i had taken this off to see if it made any difference to HEC due to it not having an unleaded head fitted. I had been running it without any additive up till taking it off the road and she had been OK apart from the clutch, unfortunately it was not the clutch but end float on the crank hence the juddering in reverse.
Anyway today with this tube thing fitted i decided to protect the petrol pipes from any damage caused by anything metal chaffing and me not noticing.
I had dug out some conduit off old wiring harnesses the size of the fuel pipe which has a slit in it for easy fitting, with that done i bound the pipe encased with conduit from end to end fitting a cable tie each end to stop it unwinding.
With that done i think it look's like the job has had some thought put into it which makes me happy if nothing else, it was then Marty turned up with a seat box from Alex B :nana:, that had been a bit of a secret  well i didn't know the little tinker but again thank's Alex and Marty i now know what my next job is :woohoo: .

Well chap's, i had sort of a busy day that was going to be stripping the battery tray from the seat box, the trouble was my arthritic hand's refused to hold my hammer and chisel tight so i could knock the top's off the domed rivet's  . As much as i wanted to get on with cleaning up that battery tray i thought it best to wait for a warmer day, i also had a thought if i get a visit from anyone they would have to earn the brew and biccies  .
My thought's turned to the wire in grey conduit which is the feed for the interior switch panel above my head but between the speaker's, to me this stick's out like a sore thumb so i thought the easiest way was to lay on my back on a board and slide under. In warmer weather i have been known to fall asleep while pondering the best way to get a tidy job done :shakehead: but not today, being a tad restricted for room and not as agile as i used to be the old gall has got to go a lot higher for me to do what i want to. Oh! i was a tad brassed off but thankfully have the patience of a saint, this helped with scratching the thick underseal off the battery box ready for action.
Of course while i was laid on my back i was also working out the best tidiest way of routing the cable from my leisure battery, this to me meant it was not a total waste of time clambering under my truck getting covered in wax oil that had been applied a long time ago but was still thick and slimy. :shakehead: I must remember rolling about on a cold concrete floor is not good for you, the fact i was laid there pondering my next plan of action, one kind of forget's how long i was on the floor for which i realized last night :banghead: .
Anyway less of the winging, at least it occupies my nosey neighbor's who think i am a bit on the daft side, with me acting daft :neener: doesn't help i guess  , not to worry they never know what i will do next so i guess it keep's them wondering.
Not that i am inpatient but i had another bash at knocking those rivet top's off  , although i am now a tad battle scared even after wrapping some rag round my hand holding the chisel the battery box is off and in one piece :nana: .
Having applied some white embrocation to my hand's to help with the discomfort my next job was to have another bash at the stubborn underseal and thick rust, i did this a tad on the gentle side so as not to course any further damage and i now have a nice battery tray :gold: .
Darkness fell upon me again :banghead: , which was just as well because i could do know more comfortably so time to make a brew for my lass and i who was due home anyway.
Although not a lot to some, i am happy at what i have achieved.
Catch you later. R-Rose :tiphat: .

PS.White Embrocation is used for treating horses and cow's i am told  but it work's wonder's for Arthritic joint's so if you come visiting and hear funny sound's worry not it's just the beast in me coming out :thud: .

I thought White Embrocation was a fancy coconut and rum based cocktail from a fashionable early 80's night club.
