Finished refurbishing the rear end panel the other night and replaced the lower hinge.
I got all the seals replaced and then refitted it. I'm quite please with how it's turned out.
I've fitted a seal over the hinge in the middle to try and water prof it a bit and stop the wind.

Tonight I'm hoping to have the front panel re fitted too.

spent the weekend mainly screwing hinges to the side panels and trying to work out how best to get the seal to work.

The due to the oringal side being totally rotten and not fully working. I was unable to fully under stand were the lower hinge need to sit on the panel for it to fold back on its self.
A little trail and error and I found it easyist to fold it back on its self and use the the edge of the panel to make sure it's a right angle.then add the seal.

I finally got one side fitting tonight pretty pleased with the finish. I used sealed rivets 4mm X 16.

Anyone recognise the braket in the picture

Looking good!

I've not seen anything like that bracket before I'm afraid, is there just the one, no matching holes on the other side or anything?

First thought would be it looks sturdy enough to support a stretcher bed - but all the Carawagon stretcher beds I've seen have a cross bar that rests on the internal guttering of the original land rover roof though, so several inches below that bracket, but about the same distance from the front.

If I were going to put a hammock from the front corner through, that's about the right place for one end to be fixed. It'd be nice and easy way to put a bed up quickly without having to rearrange all the seats, or worry about parking on level ground. And at that angle you wouldn't bang against the corner of the cabinet presumably?

So over the weekend I finished the side panels and mounted them, fitted the rear support stay and sealed the front and rear panels to the roof with tigar seal.

So tonight I refitted the roof. Not very easy on your own but I managed to balanced the roof on my head and screwed the end panels.
Then I tried to re attach the side panels. This is were the frustration starts.

So I tryed with the end panels up to get the rivets in to hold side to the roof. I have a gap of about 2inchs

So then I tryed the end panels fold down and then the stuggled with getting the rrivet in . I
Managed to get two in one each end and then lifted the roof. As it went up it got very tight and then to the point at the top were it ripped the rivet out.

So I've strapped it end panels to try and compress the seals but I am worrying that even if get it together once I release the straps and fold it down it won't com up again.

I've measured the side panels 1950 mm same as the old ones
The end panels are the originals and original front hinge replaced rear hinge.
The side panels are re hinged bit with the same size aul hinge. Holes and mounting ponits the same.

So my question to all you that have resealed refurbished there roofs . Where and I going wrong???

Just a yearly update , roof now on the body, and b -post replaced with galvanised replacements . Second row doors now painted and fitted.

Just bought a new front panel which I hope to fit this week, also carry on with the chassis repaires around the back end to get the new fuel tank in. Original back door repaired and fitted.

Here's a picture of her with the roof in place
