Dormobile Roof

Post by Marque » Tue Mar 17, 2015 2:27 am

Good morning Ladies & Gentlemen

My Dormobile roof has only a single roof vent opening mechanism (hinge) fitted. Does anyone have experience of a good replacement please? I am looking for something that fits as a direct replacement yet is more substantial than the direct replacement offered by Dormobile themselves (the default option).

I also need the Roof Cap Edge Trim. Suggestions for alternative products that exceed the standard product are very welcome indeed.

I do not mind going to stock Dormobile parts, I would rather though benefit from the forum's experience before I commit.

Kindest regards
Mark

Hi Mark

When I restored Barney I fitted a new vent cover, mechanism and seal from Dormobile. Been over the Alps, the Atlas and bounced through the Sahara covering over 30,000 miles in the last 6 years. The only issue I have had is the vent has lifted a couple of times when I was driving in the Dales with gale force wind hitting the side of the vehicle. I know others mentioned the vent lifting when driving at speed, but if you tighten it up properly and pull it down before you set off, you should have no problems.

Of course, it could be because I am very gentle driver and only ever drive at sensible speeds?

Cheers Mick
