Modifications coming thick and fast!

Post by DanC » Fri Aug 01, 2014 2:56 pm

In readiness for next weekend... First of all I need some sounds so I have been making a high level consul (like Jerry's) clad in Elephant Hide vinide.... Incorporates, speakers, stereo and storage shelf and will have a light...

Then to the pesky fridge issue, this is a hinged mount so I can stow it in two places (yes it straps down)....

And finally I have fitted the awning, the front attaches to the roofrack and I designed and fabricated a gutter bracket for the rear, nice bit of kit from Outhaus.

More pics when I have finished everything!

Looks good.

Nice to see Landy wheels in their secondary role of propping walls up too!

Hi Dan,

Sometimes the only way to get all
the little jobs done is to have a deadline
like the international w/k

As much as I like my carawagon, the dormobile
forward facing rear seats are much more practical.

Have a good journey south.

Regards

Phillip :tiphat:

Looking in use - which is fab!

Any more pics of how the awning / canopy is fixed please? Green Dormobile awning is fixed to the gutter and hacks me off as it is a beggar to open the doors when the roof is up.

Looking at fixing one to the actual roof higher up , on the blue one, so interested

I hope you can see this but I made a rear bracket, the front is bolted twice to my roof rack and I will take more pics when I move it tomorrow.

Phillip, you are so right! Did I mention I am also swapping rear springs.... I have purchased a set of these new Britpart Santana ones, look good so far with one side done... Try and guess which side ;). See you there!

Well I was delighted to see Alex and Esther this morning with a proper camper ;). This afternoon i finished installing the stereo and consul but cant get the DAB to work as it says it has no signal? I then installed the original under seat blanket box with modification to fit over the overdrive and a military tool box onto the inner front wing to take my essential (all) tools. New springs completed yesterday, surprised at how much softer the ride is..... Anyway, need to finish fridge mount, fix an exhaust bracket, fix a window, put the foam back in the door, replace a small section of trim, pump up tyres, top up oil, replace the n/s wiper, clean and pack and its Warwick on the weekend.... 6 months of jobs in a fortnight lol...

Great to see you both again. If I had known about the toolbox and the underseat blanket box, we might have stopped longer for a proper look!

If you get a minute (can't see how), the sketches for the bracket would be most appreciated. Only 4 weeks 'till we go away again.....

Ordered a table today
