Dormobile badge front wings

Post by DrivingDutchman » Sun Jun 01, 2014 3:34 pm

Hi all,

Just wondering... Does the Dormobile normaly have one badge on each front wing?
Mine only has one on the nearside front wing. The off side front wing does not have any holes for a badge.
If it should have 2 badges, I suspect the off side wing isn't the original one and that badge has been lost.

Cheers,

Hi Michiel,

Mine has 2 badges - one on each side. Maybe they ran out of badges that day and yours only got one?

Unfortunately made of unobtanium

No longer available or being made at present

Early ones were script, later had the cast aluminium with and insert

have a look at http://www.dormobile.co.uk/parts.html they have both type of badges listed at less than a tenner each.

Have been thinking hard about getting a set for my dormobile as there are no sign of them ever having been fitted either.

Cheers for the heads up Dormy. The top one of the 3 I need, but also the silver badge surround. I don't see that on the price list unfortunately.

Maybe I'll order the other one in chrome.

Hi

I have the later type and I'm sure they are plastic, coated with something to make them look like they are metal. The insert should be easy enough to remake as they are just printed plastic.

I did buy two inserts from Dormobile when I rebuilt Barney. They just glued into the outer, but one was not the best fit and it fell out somewhere in Swizerland.

If I get time, I will look into having them remade.

Cheers Mick
