Cubby box measurements

Post by andyp » Thu Jan 02, 2014 8:01 pm

Hello,
Could anyone please give me the external measurements of a Carawagon cubby box as I need to make one to fit mine. I thought I may as well make one to the original measurements. Thanks very much.

Sorry Andy, all of mine & Patrick's have the centre seat :stars:

I have thought about a cubby though - it would be sensible in a vehicle where every bit of storage area is useful.

Cheers,
Robin.

Hi

Sorry, cannot help on the Carawagon cubby box, but have a cubby box in my 88". My middle son, Joe, has been using my 88" for the last few months as his first car and he wanted a cubby box. He has now bought a brand new Corsa and I have just got the 88" back.

I have to say that I really do not like the cubby box at all. It just seams to get in the way. I personally prefer having the middle seat. Just my thoughts.

Cheers Mick

May need a cubby for mine too as it's missing & will form part of the bed..... If you do find dimensions please post on here.

Hi Andy

My cubby box in the carawagon is

39cm side to side and 46cm front to back
external

21cm high at the front, and 27cm high at
the back ( seatbox slope) plus 7cm for the
padded lid.

There is a 5cm gap between the bulkhead
and the rear of the box,a wooden strut on
the seat box at the front, and the lid is 8cm
longer at the front.

I have included pictures to help.If you need
any more PM me

Regards

Phillip :tiphat:

Phillip,

Is the cubby box fixed into position, or can it be lifted out or removed to get to the overdrive etc?

Cheers,
Robin.

Hello,
Thank you Phillip for the measurements that should be fine. Mine is part of the bed as well, so basically I need to make it, although I agree with you Mick that elbow space would be better.
