Certainly do, Phillip.

There's nothing as miserable as sitting around drinking without a fire to watch :cactus:

Nothing to do with the heat - it's more to do with the atmosphere it creates

Cheers,
Robin.

We had a great couple of days at Doncaster this weekend - the weather was fantastic and our awning, stretched between Philip's and my Carawagons provided much needed shade which makes a nice change from the usual sheltering from rain

We had two 109" Carawagons there - out of our usual gang Patrick was at a works camping trip with his and Steve was getting ready to jet off to somewhere exotic, but John borrowed Martyn's 109 V8 which is set out with a bed in the back and he set up an awning behind, and Gordon with his SWB with flysheet and hammock stretched out behind.
Stuey joined up later in the evening with his 88" Searle Safari Sleeper with awning, so we were set for a few hours around the firepit.
We also had a lad from my local MOT garage with us - he has completely restored an 88" S3, truck cab, though he's not old enough to drive yet! Tom slept on a borrowed camp bed (thanks John  ) under a tarp bivvy on the side of my Carawagon.

I think it's the first show since early in 2012 where we didn't feel the cold in the early hours of the morning - every camp/show I can think of for the last 14 months or so where hot water bottles and heaters  haven't been needed :stars:

Day visitors to the stands (LRCC & S2C) included Alex and RobW with their 88s and Martyn who came in his car! and we all enjoyed a chilled out day in the shade of the tarp, with an occasional foray to look at the other classics.

Usually at this show we are entertained by a cheerleading troupe, but they were somewhere else this year, but we did have the Jazz Strollers strolling around the show playing Jazz, as you might expect :gold:

The Dakota flypast didn't materialize, but there was still plenty to see and do for those who ventured out into the 30C sunshine

I think this is one of my favourite shows - very friendly and not too big (around 300 cars) and we are always made to feel welcome.

Cheers,
Robin.
