Dormobile roof parts.
Dormobile roof parts.
Hi, Having just acquired a Dormobile roof and closing handle, I'm now looking for any other parts needed to fit this to my 109. Roof frame, hoops, lifting arms, the large window, seals, hinges and any other bits that might be need.
Thanks for looking

Re: Dormobile roof parts.
You can get all the parts from Dormobile, but talk to them about the retaining catches as there are some rubber ones (look a bit like military bonnet latches) for a more reasonable price.
Not sure what you mean by the large window. There should be two identically sized windows and a roof vent: it's the missing hole on mine.
Edit: have fun with the canvas.....

Re: Dormobile roof parts.
Frame, springs for side arms, side arms, hinges, vent, vent seal, vent closing mechanism, hoops, outside fasteners and canvas are all available from Dormobile, but at mouthwatering prices.
You will also need the aluminium strips that hold the canvas to the roof. (again available at many ££££)

There are some ali strips and one roof stay on ebay at the moment - for a VW dormobile but look the same as Land ROver

Not sure if these are the best price, but this is more-or-less what I have on the roof on mine

Those are what I've bought to replace the original (rotten) straps and buckles on my project Dormobile, though I only got 2 - we'll see how it goes.RobW wrote:Not sure if these are the best price, but this is more-or-less what I have on the roof on mine

I remember our family VW Dormobile, in the mid 1970s, having the rubber ones.
Cheers,
Robin.

Be aware some of the eBay ones do not match the images. First set I got were very poor quality I ended up getting a pair from our local Motorsave but I can't find any on their website.RMS wrote:Those are what I've bought to replace the original (rotten) straps and buckles on my project Dormobile, though I only got 2 - we'll see how it goes.RobW wrote:Not sure if these are the best price, but this is more-or-less what I have on the roof on mine
