Robin doesn't own every Carawagon.
Hi all
This is my other camper. It's a Carawagon with a fiberglass roof. There was a romour many years ago that Carawagon built two vehicles with fiberglass roofs. Is this vehicle one of those? or has the owner added the roof at a later date?
She is a good straight vehicle and I would love to start restoring her, but it won't be this year.
I would love to discover her history. If you have seen this vehicle before, please let me know.
Cheers Mick

No, I've only got three Mick - Patrick has the other one
My first, (vehicle & roof):
and finished:
Second (body collected on purpose made trailer):
That body is going on to a 1958 109" I already have, on a new chassis.
Third:
This one is unusual in that it has two single beds (as well as the two bunks) which can be made into a full width double
Anyway, I know someone with three Dormobiles, so there
I do like yours though Mick - looking forward to seeing it finished
Cheers,
Robin.

The large rear windows look very practical, and the whole thing looks great!

My carawagon has a cupboard on either side at the back and 2 bench seats/single beds that pull to the middle to make the double, this allows access tthe deep lockers under the seats and yes it makes a very good every day vehicle having the deep windows on either side.
As there is no bulkhead behind the front seats you can also get some long pieces of timber in if you post them out of the back sliding window!

Not a very good photo but it was the only one I could find Robin
The front of the cupboard has 2 fittings for screw in table legs but I have no idea how or where it fits to be used as a table,
anyone got any ideas?

Re: Robin doesn't own every Carawagon.
Hi Christine,
It's the front seat arrangement I need.
Mine has the rear bench seats, which pull out to make the double, with the full length seat back on one side dropping down horizontal to fill the space on one side.
The seat back on the other side is made up of two smaller ones. I understand they form part of the length of the bed using the front seats.
It's all a bit difficult without pictures, but mine is filled with stuff at the moment so can't get in to take pictures.
Of course, I could be wrong, and the front seats just fold like any other Carawagon (lift out squab, fold the seat back down and put squab on top), but I'm sure I've seen a picture somewhere where the small seat backs from one of the bench seats fills the gap between the front seats and the dash, otherwise I think the bed might be a bit short (just measured at a total of 60" long)
With mine came some short lengths of square tubing (5 shown here but I found another):
I was thinking they might have something to do with extending the bed at the front
Re. the table, you should have 3 leg screw fittings. Mine has 5, but it looks like someone has added another two so the table can be used outside.
Leg storage:
Table set up for outside:
Table set up for inside:
You should have a section on the back of the bulkhead with two holes:
With the three legs fitted, two of the legs drop into those holes. The other end of the table has one leg so you can get past it to sit down.
Hope that helps with the table - when I start to restore this one I'll have another play with the bed arrangement.
Cheers,
Robin.

Re: Robin doesn't own every Carawagon.
I've just noticed Christine, that your rear bench seat has three legs!
I think we might have different Carawagon versions here.
My rear bench seats have two legs and are only 42" long.
With the front seats in 'standard' Carawagon folded form, the whole bed is 60" long.
The two seat backs from one side rear seat are 12" x 18" each which, if added to the front seats somehow makes a bed 72" or so long!
The double cupboard on the right of mine is 36" long, and the wardrobe and fridge on the other side make up 36".
I suspect if you measure your rear (ooer ) we might be talking about different animals here
Cheers,
Robin.
