Oddjob
I've not used him in a while, but this site has got my enthusiasm going a bit, so here goes to introduce an old soldier badly in need of TLC.
"Oddjob" a1967 Marshal Ambulance bodied 109 with a 2.5TD conversion. The rear compartment has had most of the military kit removed and has on & off been used as a panel van and a camper over the last 20-odd years.
scruffy but insanely fun to drive.
2 years storage in a yard while we drove a series 3 sw somewhere else, then another 2 years while life got in the way means he's long overdue a load of maintenance, but he's generally pretty solid on the steel bits.
Slightly sad but realistically he's going to have to be sold, as I've a 4 limb drive miniature landrover impressionist around the house and Oddjob is only a 2 seater!
not my only LR camper though, I've an 88 set up similarly to John's and my eyes will be firmly open for dormobiles :)
will write more next time there's a gap between baby wrangling!
cheers
Chris

Re: Oddjob
I'd really like to get one of these one day as I'm sure they'd make a great camper.
I'd be very reluctant to part with it after twenty years ownership

Re: Oddjob
I seem to remember it's even more faded now, Chris - that must be an old picture
If only they had the head-height, otherwise I might have made you an offer before my Carawagon came along
Cheers,
Robin.

Re: Oddjob
if i'd had the time, the plan was to fit a raising roof - as the frame is well able to accommodate one...
swap for Patricks 5 door ;)

Re: Oddjob
The 5 door isn't for sale I'm afraid...but there was an almost identical one on Ebay a few weeks ago, so they do come up occasionally.
Not that I'd mind having a big pink ambulance, especially with a pop up roof - do you think Viv would be pleased to have it back in front of HH?

Well, that must have been early in the morning or late in the evening - it's normally packed
I've told Patrick he can borrow Steptoe to park there, just to see what's said

Re: Oddjob
it would be worth getting him fixed so I could go back & visit!
