Hello all,

I am struck a deal to buy the remains of a British Army Carawagon.

I am located in Eastern Canada, specifically mid way between Toronto and Montreal.

Regards

Robin Craig

Well, quite a bit of time has passed and what was a sure thing failed. My attempts to buy 16 GN 07 stumbled when I called the owner when I had the cash.

He decided that he was going to keep the vehicle.

I took the high road and sat on my hands and kept my mouth shut. Anyway, long story short, it came up for sale again and I reluctantly paid the man what he asked for because I know the chance to buy something doesn't come along often.

I have concluded the deal and the vehicle is home. Along with it came a plastic shopping bag with a lot of paperwork. It details where it came from and when and how.

I will put more up in the coming days.

I have started collecting the simple to find series 3 parts and common military bits.

The vehicle runs, of a fashion, off a jerry can.

Well done

Looks like a bit of work to get it back to it's Carawagon spec - is that what you intend to do with it?

Cheers,
Robin.

Hello there again Robin,

Yes, you are correct, full restoration back to in service military condition. A bold goal and a lofty one considering I have 2 other restorations underway and an unfinished garage.

So far I have had all the military pioneer tool brackets sourced locally, another windscreen, all the jam jar lights, a set of military seats another steering wheel.

I am going to collect parts but no work until the garage is enclosed, as that is more important now.

The roof actually really offers me a challenge that appeals to my fabricator brain, same as the roof rack. I am hoping that folks can help me with various pictures over time of various parts.

yours Robin
