Hi all

Having met Mick Outhwaite recently when doing a 1,500 tour of the country in my 1979 SIII he encouraged me to join the Forum. Whilst not really a camper I was living in the back with a camp bed arrangement that I was kindly sent from someone in Canada who had stopped using it.

Hope to get a few tips.

Thanks

James

G'day matey welcome along, i have used an 88 and a standard 109 kitted out as campers but were started basically because if i didn't want to go home i didn't have to as long as i had food and drink to take with medication i could sleep anywhere.

I didn't mind sleeping on a make shift bed to start with but i thought it would be a lot better if my dog didn't have all the bed so i made a three quarter fold up bed out of what i had kicking around along with a cupboard hung from where the roof bolts to the sides also beside that was a two ringed hob type thing that had a grill as well with a cupboard underneath that was the home for cooking utensils.

Water was in a 2 gallon plastic container with a tap that was hung on the back of the body this did myself and dog for many years until i got an ambulance which after i had finished making something from nothing was a home for me and anyone else who tagged along and that included two St Bernards long before i ever new about the classic campers that were made

Just my views R-Rose :tiphat:

Hi James, and welcome :hello:

That looks cosy - got all the important bits to hand I see; tinned food, coffee percolator and toolbox

Cheers,
Robin.

Hi and welcome...

Does the bed stay in this position or can you fold it away so you can take a passenger along?
Looks well made construction for the bed.

Cheers,

Hi James

Glad to see you made it here. Keep us informed of your trips and keep an eye out for trips members are planning. We will be going to France again beginning of June.

Cheers Mick
