Leafers In 'T' Lochs II 11th-???? September 2015

Post by mistericeman » Fri Sep 26, 2014 9:34 pm

Hope you don't mind me posting this invite here ....

I'd love to get as many folks and their leafers along for another trip "Ooooop" North as I can ....

Plan is to kick off on the 11th September and head pretty far North (Orkney Isles ...Skara brae etc ) It's a fair distance BUT travelling as a group AND more importantly at the speed of the slowest ...so no worries about being left behind .
Wild camping as much as possible same as this years ....Swimming in the sea,and some VERY impressive sea fishing AND scenery .

Some fantastic scenery AND fantastic people too ...
I'd be highly delighted IF any of you could join us for some fantastic Leafering .

I'll fill in some of the blanks as time goes on IF anyone is interested :wine:

Don't mind at all Ian :tiphat:

Sounds like a great trip - I'll have to check dates a little bit nearer the time, I'm afraid, but I would love to come along if there are no clashes

Cheers,
Robin.

Ian,

Can you PM more details of all of the trips, please, and I'll start a "Shows & Events 2015" page similar to 2014 :tiphat:

Nice and easy to see everything at a glance

Cheers,
Robin.

Quick update and some flesh on the bare bones ....

The cunning plan so far is .....

Head out on the 11th of September (Eventually returning on the 26th ) and head North via the A1m North .....

Loose plans thus far ....AND still in a state of flux ....so please feel free to shout up ....

Travel north Via A1/A696/A68 and thence

Looking like first nights stop is going to be in Leithope forest ..just over the border near to Jedburgh ....

Then onwards to Brig 'O' Turk for some of Genes Very special hospitality ...including some rather interesting history and beautiful scenery (As I understand it thus far Gene will again be providing the very generous hospitality of the local village hall (A small Donation the same as last year will of course be in order for the use of very nice showers and ablutions)

Thence onwards to either Oban and across to Mull and Iona (Fantastic religious abbey remains etc ) (Ferry charges involved @£60 for 4x4 and two folks)
OR up to Skye
And then up to Loch Ewe ....WWII gun emplacement remains and stunning beaches

And thence onwards to Orkney via gills bay to st margarets hope Adults £15 each and car £35 ...so £130 for two adults in a vehicle BOTH ways .

Just a few bits for folks to Ghoogle ....just to whet the appetite

Skara Brae ....

Churchill barriers

Scapa flow museum

Ring of Brogda

Standing Stones at Stenness

Italian prisoners of war chapel

old man of hoy

Tomb of eagles

Highland park distillery

Ness battery ....

Still filling blanks in BUT you get the general idea :nana:
