What are you planning for 2019?

It has been quiet on the list, too quiet. So, where is everybody planning to go in 2019? Hopefully somewhere exciting.

To start you off, I'm planning on yet another trip to Colorado and New Mexico via the Grand Canyon, hopefully with a new gearbox installed. It did get me back from New Mexico last October but only with the aid of some horrible thick goop in the gearbox and a set of earplugs.

So where is it to be? Or is the thought of Brexit too depressing?

I'm still struggling with time and funding along with the fettling of vehicles taking longer than I imagined.

Thus, 'exciting' trips for me tend to include getting something to Shell Island twice a year for a weekend or popping up the Weird Dale with the Northern Hooligans.

Shell Island I weekend is April 28th A few chums from Seriously Series go.

I hope to do a week's tour with Sproggle in the summer with two or three different stopping place.

T'Pit in August is a must for me.

The big adventures do not seem to be in my reach just yet.

Nothing extreme!

Road trip to Norfolk Broads later in the year to go sailing and some overnight local trips to visit some National Trust places that are just too far for a day trip: basically an excuse to use the Carmobile/Dormawagon, Trust & Camping Club membership!

Also off to Campers Calling in the summer: hopefully it'll be dry but assuming she'll start at least we'll get further without a tractor than all of the VWs! :nana:

Not sure Doncaster & Newark shows count? There's also the Pickering(?) railway trip that Gordon (Lowebox) arranges early June if it'll fit into other plans.

Do need to plan something bigger, but suspect that'll be Scotland or Wales next year: funds, holiday days & health permitting.

Shell Island for us in April.

Sproggle wants to do a week's tour in the summer holiday.

T'Pit end of August.

I might have a run out in May but funds and time are short.

For the first year in a while, no euroleafing for us. Although we are going (back home) to Cornwall which is another country really (I still possess and wear my Cornish Nationalist badge with pride)

Hope to get across la manche in the Citroen Ami sometime though

I started this thread so its high time I wrote a few lines of prose to update you all. After fitting a new gearbox and clutch, I drove the Dormobile via Monument Valley to southern Colorado in mid-May for a couple of weeks, then left it there for a couple of weeks before returning to it in mid June. After participating in a couple of work sessions on the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad, I'm back home again, leaving the Dormie in New Mexico this time. I'll be back there in 3 weeks time for further work sessions, building new passenger trucks.
