Dormatic Seat Frame - clean & repaint advice

Post by Marque » Fri Oct 31, 2014 4:03 pm

Ladies & Gentlemen

The seat frames need a good going over. What is the best approach to rejuvenating them? They are totally functional - just in need of a sand down & repaint.

Do you recommend taking the frames apart (very cautious about doing so) to reach the joints/hinges etc?

However they are painted black (1967). So if it considered best to rub down & paint over (if so with what paint & what colour). Originally I understood most Dormobiles has white seat frames as standard.

I would like to keep the vehicle as original as possible, hence the question.

Kindest regards

Research has indicated that later Dormobiles had black Vinyl & black painted seat frames. So that question has been solved thanks to Terri Ann's website.
