Re: Dormobile roof aperture dimensions
Thanks Rob and in answer to your question Michiel I do have a spare LWB roof (2 in fact - one is a tropical job) and the plan is to make up the dormobile roof using trestles, then take off and mothball the 'pristine' roof which could be re-fitted later. Attached is a photo of what's left of the frame, should have posted it earlier!

Re: Dormobile roof aperture dimensions
This makes more sense with a picture to look at.
I have emailed you the fitting instructions from Dormobile, courtosy from Colin. Hope they are of use to you.
I have the roof open in the mean time and will measure again for you when I wake up later today. Amat work on night shift at the moment.
Do you have the bunks too? And if so, are you going to fit them?
If you are not going to fit bunks, the aperture size is not overly important as it is a lot smaller than the canopy. If you do fit the bunks, then it is quite important as otherwise there might be not enough room to fit them. I'll try and take some pictures later today and post them here.
Cheers,
Michiel

Got the instructions, thank you. I didn't think the exact aperture size was critical, especially as I don't have the Dormobile bunk frames, although I might adapt a 'stretcher' type to fit. A step nearer....

Thanks Simon, I checked Mick O's out last weekend so I have photos and measurements now. However I think I might give this one a miss, I find the task rather daunting. Reading Teri-Ann's detailed decription, it's clearly pretty complicated, not something I have the facilities for let alone the energy and that's why Dormobile charge over a grand for fitting I guess.

Re: Dormobile roof aperture dimensions
from what I hear the canvas part is a right pig to replace
Re: Dormobile roof aperture dimensions
It is, and not helped when they send the wrong size up first..... The guys fitting mine were not impressed. Depending what the £1k includes it might not be a bad deal! I think mine will be around £2500 for roof, (a lot of) repairs, canvas, glass etc and painting: that's just the roof. Looks really good though.
The roof that came off the 109" isn't in great shape so if you want to try it on that you're welcome to it: you'd need to collect from near Chesterfield though.
