Hi looking to duplicate my alloy cupboards and other fittings in wood for my S3 Lwb. How thick is the wood sheet material and what type is best to use?
Many Thanks.

My remade units are marine ply, stained & yahct varnished. Think it's about 6mm-8mm ish thick.

Original Dormobile units were made from painted steel sheet.

Original Carawagon ones were blockboard (for lightness), around 1/2" thick with laminate on top and mahogany edge trim.

You can still get blockboard, which is usually whitewood (pine etc.) strips with a single ply facing.

If you use thin ply, 6mm for example, you'll have corners to reinforce, but will be lighter than using thicker ply.

Hope that helps,
Robin.
