Garage/Workshop automatic extinguishers

Post by RMS » Mon Nov 13, 2017 12:23 pm

Hi guys,

I posted a few weeks ago HERE  about the possibility of a bulk order of automatic, ceiling mounted, fire extinguishers.

I've now got prices, as follows:

6kg units £50.00 ea
10kg units £59.00 ea
12kg units £69.00 ea

These prices assume we get orders for at least 20 units, and include postage to your door via specialised courier (pressurised vessels!).

I've been told the 12kg units are not big sellers, so stock is limited, so first come - first served for those!

Spec here:
                                              APS6                   APS10                  APS12
Capacity (kg)                             6                         10                        12
Filled weight (kg)                     8.53                    13.34                    15.66
Diameter (mm)                        250                      270                       290
Height (mm)                            264                      312                       372
Discharge time (s)                    20                        20                         30
Bulb release temp (°C)              68                        68                         68
Coverage (sq m)                        9                         15                         18

All units include a pressure guage for maintenance.

As they will be delivered directly to you, I will need payment before ordering, via paypal (if you accept their charges), bank transfer, cheque in the post or cash in hand.
The order has to be placed in one go to get the discount, so I'm suggesting a deadline of 1st December.
I hope that's ok with everyone who's interested?

Cheers,
Robin.

Last call for these extinguishers.

Because these will be delivered directly from the manufacturer to your address, I'll need to send full payment with the order.

I intend placing the order within the next few days, and will email/message everyone who has ordered.
As soon as all monies are in, I'll place the order.

Cheers,
Robin.

Well, despite having potential orders for 26 units, only 5 folk have confirmed and sent funds rbchn

I messaged everyone on the list last week, but some folk haven't got back to me, and others have changed their minds and dropped out.

I'm ordering 6 for myself, but even with those who have confirmed and sent money we're still 4 short of the discount level.

If anyone else is still interested, please let me know ASAP - as soon as we reach 20 I'll send the order in as it's not really fair to those who sent money weeks ago to be kept waiting!

Cheers,
Robin.

I can’t speak for everyone but personally I’m not in any rush. My workshop isn’t being built until February
I'm not really as bad as I make out. Despite what people say.

G'day Robin, if it helps I will have 4 to make the numbers up, can I send you a cheque or will we be seeing each other anytime soon. I must say I appreciate this Robin and to others that have never had a fire in there workshop believe me it is terrifying to say the least.

Mine was caused by yobs setting fire to a lorry sheet covering up a new chassis down the side of my garage. If it wasn't for an intruder alarm in my garage I would have lost the lot, other than that it haunted me for years and I never slept properly let alone leave the house.

Believe me a fire to do your burgers on is great and relaxing but when it is your workshop let alone your home it put's years on you, to be honest I was on a lot of meds just to help me cope in case it happened again. As you have noticed it is still in the forefront of my mind, the fact I was helpless made it even worse.

These are just my views but being terrified is not a word that cover's how I felt. Catch you later. R-Rose :tiphat: .

Just got the final lot of extinguishers delivered, and installed in my barn

I always had a bit of a niggling doubt after grinding/welding, but quite happy that I'm well protected now with 6 of them giving good coverage  :gold:

I did have to order 2 extras in the end, to make up the minimum order for the discount, so if anyone else is interested, let me know.

Cheers,
Robin.
