Was this a Carawagon?
Seen on eBay: http://r.ebay.com/NpRtin
Rather looks like it is the remains of a Carawagon - apparently a re-chassis. Wonder what happened to the roof and fittings?
Not a bad place to start for anyone with a shed full of the right bits.

Re: Was this a Carawagon?
Certainly looks like it, with the windows, cutaway seat boxes and the seat back fittings.
It's a shame that the rest of it is missing - at the moment it's just a 109" hard top
Looks like it's been re-registered as well - as far as we know, Searle/Carawagon International were no longer in existence in 1981
Cheers,
Robin.

Insomnia Robin?
I'm amazed at the lengths you will go to be the first to reply to a post
In fact the Carawagon Ulysses on a 110 chassis was launched in late 1983 as far as I remember, I've got a road test of it somewhere
Back on topic, I agree that 109 seems to have some Carawagon features

You know what it's like John, if you wake up in the night and can't get back to sleep.overlander wrote:Insomnia Robin?I'm amazed at the lengths you will go to be the first to reply to a post

I give myself 30 minutes or so, then if I'm still awake I get up, check emails etc. then watch some boring tv - I'm usually off again after 20 minutes of tv

Good to see you here, John. Yes, I think my original post was late enough - but that's the curse of being a journalist - work all evening, then can't sleep.
Now, who has a spare roof and fittings?

Re: Was this a Carawagon?
Finally went for £925.99.
Hopefully it was someone wanting to return it to its previous state
Cheers,

Re: Was this a Carawagon?
Depending when it had the new chassis, and
with a new mot i agree maybe a reasonable
price.I was commenting from an originality
angle, and correct me if i am wrong but were
carawagons being built in 1982?
