Karen bought me LRO to try and cheer me up after a Lucas moment in the Carawagon and I spotted this: is it anyone we know?
Edit: can't attach a 306k jpg!

Shouldn't be a problem Rob - limit is 1000 x1000 pixels, around 800k, unless the host has changed it without telling me
Can you email the picture to me and I'll have a look to see why it won't attach?
Cheers,
Robin.

Here's the picture Rob was trying to attach.

I don't think I've seen it before, but the guy has had it since 2000 so unless he's been to any shows etc. we might not have seen it
Re. the problem with attaching the image, it appears that some jpg files are being incorrectly tagged with their size information (EXIF) so the forum software can't determine the correct size, and so rejects them.
It is being looked into by the phpbb coding team, apparantly.
I got around it by displaying the jpg on-screen and taking a snapshot of it using Windows Snipping Tool (installed as part of Windows7/10), and attaching the saved image.
Hopefully they will sort it soon, but it's been reported for a few months now!

Interesting colour and roof without windows. Wonder if it has had different roof fitted. Later ones usually have the end vents in the lower half of the folding panel, at least some of which sported the translucent roof without windows from what I can work out. I can't remember if MOD models had the vent in the top or bottom panel.

Interesting - I wonder how the flexible panel was constructed - looks to be corrugated on the inside!
I feel an email to the seller is in order
Cheers,
Robin.

It just looks like corrugated polycarbonate roofing sheet attached to the inside - is this just to give the outer some strength? I would guess if the flexible panel is just a thin plastic it'll need some help especially when it is laying flat.

That was my thought too - I suppose it might need some strengthening lengthways, but I'm not sure I like that look on the inside
I wonder how Searle's rare 'translucent' roof was strengthened? Possibly with tubes/bars bonded in/on to the material or aluminium angle on the outside like the 'more normal' Carawagon roofs
One of those was seen by one of our members in the car park of a LR event 2-3 years ago, but I don't think he managed to get any details.
