Carawagon in NSW?
Carawagon in NSW?
Spied this on Gumtree. I don't presume to know much about them but it looks decidedly Carawagonish to me.

Re: Carawagon in NSW?
Certainly looks right.
It's got the badges and the narrow windows - a shame there are no internal pictures or description of the rear though the cubby box looks decidedly 'Carawagon'.
Perhaps the internal cupboards etc. have been stripped out, so the current seller doesn't realise it's any different to any other 1960s 'Defender'
One of the pictures from the rear shows something which could possibly be the cupboards on the right hand side
It also may have had a lifting roof - replaced if it was in a poor state and leaking, or as the lifting roof was an expensive option it might have never had one.
Thanks for posting the link - hopefully whoever buys it realises what it is and restores it to its former glory
Cheers,
Robin.

"Short" has a different perspective in the wide open spaces of Australia
Then again, we have family and friends in Australia and the USA who think nothing of driving 70-100 miles to a restaurant for an evening meal
Cheers,
Robin.

Very kind offer Jerryd but I'm more than happy with my Dormy
Although there must be someone out there who can give the thing a bit of love! I've been watching it on Gumtree for a couple of weeks and no one has claimed it. Hence the notice on the forum

Re: Carawagon in NSW?
There was a 'Wanted - Dormobile or Carawagon ' ad on Gumtree under Land Rover in Australia back in June. Hopefully he has an alert going and sees this.

I remember. I think that was Grommit on the forum here!
Re: Carawagon in NSW?
Yes, I have a wanted advert running on Gumtree.
Really need a 5 door because of the kids and need to finish the Dormobile first !
I did send an email to the seller of the one listed asking for internal photos and whether it started & drove OK. That was a couple of weeks ago and still no reply. I really don't need it but if it was on my doorstep I would have been to look at it by now..........
