Wanted: Dormobile Roof

Post by moogling » Mon Apr 25, 2016 10:24 am

I know it's a huge ask but im after a pop roof to finally turn our IIa into a vehicle that can comfortably support 4.

The last 4 years have meant at least two of us sleeping in a ground tent!

£ or parts swap. I've got a decent standard roof and plausibly a set of 5 deep dish rims to swap. Or purely cash! :)

Fingers crossed...

Just checked on Dormobile website to see how much it had gone up since I had my 110 done (a smidgin under £3k about 8 years ago)

Frightening reading

Roof assembly for smooth roof panel
£2355

Opening window (per window)
£300.00
Candy Stripe Canopy upgrade
£200.00
Roof Bunks (for two)
£750.00
Bed platform
£450.00
Paint Dormobile roof cap to match vehicle roof from
£550.00
Roof Cap Carpet Lined
£150.00
Curtain track upgrade
£150.00
Fitting from
£1950.00

However, I have a roof with a cracked vent, two windows (not in the roof), Most of the frame that goes round the hole that is cut out of the roof (needs angled steel to make up the rusty gaps), lifting mechanism (arms), a canvas. The hoops are knackered, I have most (if not all) of the cast aluminium pieces that fasten the canvas to a roof.
According to the parts list http://www.dormobile.co.uk/pdfs/LRpartsUKEU.pdf replacement set of hoops are £569 !!

I might be able to be persuaded to part with my roof for £250.

Moogling, I would buy AlexB's one if I were you....

I've been searching for a Carawagon roof (or a Dormobile at a pinch) for 8 years now without any luck. :-|

I thought I had one at Christmas/New Year's time but the seller went quiet on me and I assume sold elsewhere

Buy when you can!
