Adventure Overland 2018 - Sept 22-23

Post by RMS » Wed Aug 08, 2018 3:58 pm

We'll be at the Adventure Overland Show again, at Stratford-upon-Avon on 22-23 September.

This is probably the best Overlanding show of the year - always a fantastic turnout of vehicles, some great seminars and lots of interesting people to talk to.

If you want to join us, please let me know as soon as you can.
There will be a cost involved, and I'll let you know how much as soon as the organiser lets me know.

Cheers,
Robin.

I had hoped to get a project or two together with the handsome and talented Lofi but other commitments have slowed things down.

Maybe in the spring if I can get the stitching off the ground and Lofi can work his magic at his end.

A disappointing turnout for this, 6 vehicles were supposed to be on the stand, but Patrick & I were the only ones there :thud:

Trev came for the day on Saturday, in his car as his Carawagon had broken down and he was waiting for a fuel pump.

The weather was fine - the wind died down by 7pm on Friday and didn't really return; a bit of heavy rain for a couple of hours on Saturday afternoon so we lit the firepit early to cheer everyone up - and an hour or so of light rain this morning didn't dampen anyone's spirits.
So much for storm Bronagh, at least in Stratford

Lots of public milling around, and we had plenty of visitors to the stand.

No photos as I forgot to take any !

Disappointing turnout on the adjacent Leafers Overland stand with only 3 vehicles turning up - me, Paul Kellett, Mick O and William - in all 6 of the original Moroccan crew from 2011. Too many fair weather fairies sadly, their cards are marked! Apart from the show, the bands on Friday and Saturday night were top notch and we feasted well on kefta tagine, chicken with coconut plus chicken and couscous on Saturday night.

cheers
