Dunsfold Land Rover Show. June 10 and 11

Post by yakcam » Wed May 31, 2017 12:50 pm

I've booked my advance tickets and will be camping on the Friday and Saturday nights.

This will be my first camping trip in my newly restored Land Rover Dormobile.

Any one else attending the show?

May be we could pitch up together?

Kind regards

I think Phillip (dudley) was planning to be there with his Carawagon.

That's the final weekend for Patrick to move into our old house, so it's a 'No' from us :stars:

Have fun.

Cheers,
Robin.

I've just booked for Sunday with the Dormobile. Just as a visitor with the family, but are they doing the same thing as a few years ago? That you can park up at the show and exhibit your private vehicleif you turn up in a classic landrover?

Cheers,

Oops... Just discovered that I'm going with the series 2 club for the whole weekend. Completely forgot that I had offered to man the stand with them....
Dohhh. Just bought a family ticket for the sunday. Oh well, never mind. It is going to a good Landy cause I suppose.
:stars:

So looks like I'm going to be there from Saturday.

Many thanks for all your replies.

I enjoyed meeting Phil and Michael at the show.

First camping stay in my Dormobile since restoration. It worked well but I still have some roof repairs to complete.

Attached some photos.

Regards to all

Chris

It was indeed a pleasure meeting you guys again.

Chris, I salute you to a wonderfull restauration of your Dormobile. Having seen it in the flesh and met the man who did lots of the work, I can honestly say I have restauration envy...

I think it looks really good with the two tone paint job.

I only think that the Caranex tent is not really a usefull addition to the Dormobile as you can't erect the roof.

I do love the lush carpet in there. Kim and Maaike are pestering me now to do the same as it is much nicer for their girly feet.

The things you have done are in keeping with the period in my opinion and very sympathetic to the Dormobile in general. It looks all factory fitted and finished.

Coming back to the Caranex tent, it looks well with the Dormobile, just the roof is blocked from lifting. If you want I can point you to someone I know who can alter the tunnel that connects the tent to the car or maybe even replace the fabric with a robust militay green proper canvas tent with a fitting tunnel so you can use the roof with the tent.

I am experimenting myself with our new Khyam tent and how to connect it easy to the back of Dora. Coming weekend at Hollowel steam and heavy horse show, I will test yet another cunning plan I hatched this week.

Anyway, was nice to see you all and hope to meet you soon again. :tiphat:
