Easter Camp in N Yorks - Limited space available!

Post by RMS » Mon Feb 22, 2016 8:04 pm

Hi everyone,

Does anyone fancy an Easter Camp at a site just north of Pickering HERE?

The site has toilets and running water (no showers) and the cost is £5 per person per night payable to the site - we'll be contacting the site to see if they require deposits and will let you know.

Of course, we'll have the communal fire pit(s) blazing away so if you have any wood to burn, please bring it along as it might get a bit chilly!

If you fancy joining us, please send me a PM - places may be limited as it is the Easter weekend, so poste-haste

Cheers,
Robin.

PS. Thanks to the Reas family for taking the lead on this

A bit of further info after Chris has spoken to the campsite owners - no caravans are allowed on this site!

We've provisionally booked a number of pitches for 3 nights - no deposits required, though if you say you are going it is expected that you turn up, especially as it is Easter weekend as they will probably be turning people away!

Cheers,
Robin.

Did you get any takers for this? We're over at Kirkby Stephen Classic Commercial Vehicle Rally on the Saturday and Sunday but may trundle over Sunday evening if there are a few folk at the camp site

Hi Simon,

I think we've got about 10 vehicles, probably 15 or so folk, though some will be going home on the Sunday.

There should still be a good group on Sunday night though, if you want to join us.

Cheers,
Robin.

A great weekend, though cut a little bit short by bad weather!

Thanks to the Reas gang (Kath, Chris & Pete) for bringing the Royal Navy outfit and camping out in tents, Lawrence & Joe for camping it up with Sarah the SWB, Trev for braving the A1 on a Bank Holiday Friday to bring his Carawagon, Sean for popping down the road in his newly restored Marshal Ambulance camper (first time out!), Steve for bringing his Carawagon, though it arrived poorly and struggled to get home again today (suspected blown head gasket!).
Also for Patrick in his Carawagon for convoying with me on a 4 hour A1 & A64 journey which should have taken 1h30m on a 'normal' day!

We found this Escort holding up the roof of a shed in the next field :embarassed:

Although we didn't manage any green laning this time, Patrick & I tested out a short lane and ford nearby on the way there:
