Dormobile register

I propose to fill the gap in the Dormobile world by compiling a register of all known Series 2 and 2a conversions.

I am not fussed if they are later, after conversion transplants, I just want to get as much info as I can on these rare beasts.

Information that would be exceedingly useful would be;

Chassis number
Registration number
Power train
Modifications
Domicile
Dormobile number (if known)
Any other comments / information

I do not propose to include personal details so as to keep with data protection legislation

Please message me or email me and I will keep you updated on progress.

Many thanks for your help

I have dug out an old (aug 1997) Dormobile Club update of members list and the following vehicles were identified as having recently joined or moved;

RBG2G No details to be found on DVLA
ONY609E sorn
9395NE sorn
PWV272M sorn but in the possession of a current member of S2C
HPO748H Untaxed since 2007
KKE972B No details
BDH800C taxed and mot's

in addition,
there were Dormobiles from Netherlands (Jack and Dick Wapenar and Wieringa) and USA (Lisa and John Middleton)

I have also found a letter from Andy Moffat to a Mr Gibson, seeking information regarding a Dormobile spotted by helicopter !

Any information on these vehicles or owners would be gratefully received (within current data protection laws of course)

Three numbers before your Dormobile number?

Never been sure if these Dormobile conversions were sold from Martin Walter or from Land Rover dealers. The later may explain how your conversion was sold and registered before mine? All presuming the conversions were not built to order?

I had a suffix A registered 1958 Series 1 107 station wagon some time ago and understood that the suffix A registrations were used up for those vehicles that had their original registrations transferred/sold on.

Cheers

Chris

Many thanks CHris much appreciated

Phil has the chassis numbers, from a visit to Gaydon, and I very much hope that when he returns from his oceanic travels, be might let me have them. That would allow a much better comparison between what some know and others are helping us to know !
