Re: Dormobile seen in California USA

No, and I thought I knew most of the Dormobiles in California. Registration plate doesn't look local.

Re: Fuel tank for 1966 LR Dormobile

I replaced my rear tank on the Dormie with one from Rovers North. It needed a new sender too as the 1962 sender unit is a bolt-on and the replacement tanks use the later ring-locked unit. I don't know the change-over year. The tank didn't fit at first - the cross member fouled the U-shaped cutout so...

Colorado or bust 2016

I posted this on the Seriously Series forum so apologies if you've already seen this. July seemed like a good month to head east to the mountains of New Mexico and Colorado, taking my usual drive out along Route 66. I try and stay away from freeways as although the Dormobile can cruise at 60-65mph, ...

Re: How many?

I have a list of 19 Dormobiles in the USA that I know of or have seen. Most are roadworthy. There may be more. Its a big country. The National Licensing Centre may be able to help with UK registered vehicles but not ROW. Some of the ones I know about are not original having taken over roofs and inte...

How many?

Here's a wild question, just because it is late here in the USA and I'm still awake. Does anyone have any idea how many Carawagons or Dormobiles still exist? I know of a number here in the USA, probably in the teens, but worldwide?

Re: Dormie for sale in the USA

The registration number is state-by-state so if the vehicle is moved to another state and is registered there, it will get a new number. What doesn't change of course, is the chassis number and that is what identifies the vehicle. So your insurance certificate will show the chassis number instead of...
