Re: New user registrations
Hi Mick, Yes, John mentioned it this morning - I'm only up to page 29 (lift up roof conversions!) as the LRO goes to the smallest room of the house when it arrives, otherwise I'd get no work done  It does make you wonder who picks these snippets up and why they didn't contact us for a bit o...

Re: Hi Everyone
Hi Steve, Welcome :tiphat: We were joined at last weekend's camp by a 109 SW with a Howling Moon roof tent - looks like a quality product and seems to work well, though you do have to climb a ladder to go to bed :neener: You can just see it here: http://www.rms1.co.uk/landy/cara/litton1.jpg Cheers, ...

Re: My 1967 Carawagon (no name yet!)
Yep, and Disco 200TDi turbos are ten-a-penny compared to 300 or Defender
Of course, it's only easy if you've got the gear - I seem to remember you don't do your own welding, so if you're thinking about doing the same to your new project, just let me know

Re: My 1967 Carawagon (no name yet!)
Hi Alex, Yes, the Disco 200TDi turbo fits the 4 pot LWB chassis with a 'small' (see below!) scallop out just below the turbo: http://www.rms1.co.uk/landy/cara/scallop1.jpg http://www.rms1.co.uk/landy/cara/scallop2.jpg I went a bit overboard and cut more than I needed to, but I didn't want to get it ...

Re: My 1967 Carawagon (no name yet!)
Another couple of half days now sees the engine fitted, with Disco 200TDi turbo & scalloped chassis, alternator mounted using series mount with spacers, exhaust header and downpipe fabricated and rad mounted and piped up. http://www.rms1.co.uk/landy/cara/nearlydone.jpg Just got the battery tray ...

Re: My 1967 Carawagon (no name yet!)
2 1/4 D engine out this morning: http://www.rms1.co.uk/landy/cara/engineout.jpg and the Disco engine going it this afternoon  http://www.rms1.co.uk/landy/cara/enginein.jpg I'm cheating a bit here as this was only a trial fit to see how the turbo fits in and to see the exhaust routing, so it ...

Re: My 1967 Carawagon (no name yet!)
Well, I took the Carawagon out for a spin yesterday, and what a disappointment :shakehead: I don't know if it's a 'good' 2.25 Diesel or not, but what I do know is that I can't live with it as it is. 45mph flat out and 30mph up hills - that's no good for what I plan on using it for :thud: So, as I ha...

Re: LR Classic Camper Rescue
Ah, a sunken footwell, I wonder if it was a SW at some time, or does it look as though it's been hacked in? I also wonder how they would have got the bed to work if it had SW style rear seats? If you remember, Patrick's has a 2 seat forward facing bench seat, with the base made from ply, so the cush...

Re: LR Classic Camper Rescue
You lucky so&so Mick  That looks straighter, and in better nick, than my recent purchase - added to the rarity of the roof, if you'd offered it to me instead of buying it yourself, I'd have had it like a shot! It's interesting though, that the rear side windows are standard. Patrick's S...
